In my opinion, as a person who doesn't study at all, I think studying itself is a waste of time. Studying is beneficial to remembering or learning something important. It is also beneficial to applying and using analytical skills and sharpening them. In such ways, studying is beneficial.... However, studying is distracting. It is hard for most people to maintain a hard level of focus. Even within the materials that are studying, particularly images, people can get lost in the details. On top of that, it is hard to avoid the outside world and its distractions. Maintaining an intense focus, yes helps to make studying effective, however, studying is not a good thing especially when studying and exploring the details in something. It can cause a lot of distractions, and it can be time consuming, of which the amount of time it takes just to do that alone, a lot of work can get done. Plus, for those who are like me who have a reoccurring thought process where things just pop up at the slightest sound or mention of something, you don't necessarily need to study because you can remember as soon as you need it.
