I believe that the DARE program that many children around the nation participate in is very beneficial for these kids because they are introduced to the dangers of drugs and violence that is apparent in the real world. This early knowledge of the harms of drugs can steer children away from these harmful substances.

My opponent has offered no proof of this. However, studies show that dare hurts children.
TIME magazine notes, "20-year-olds who'd had DARE classes were no less likely to have [used various drugs]... , or caved in to peer pressure than kids who'd never been exposed to DARE... Another study, performed at the University of Illinois, suggests some high school seniors who'd been in DARE classes were more likely to use drugs than their non-DARE peers."
