The God of the bible is acknowledged and described by church leaders and worshipers as good and forgiving. While the devil is the evil enemy that everyone must constantly battle.

But is the God of the bible the origin for the existence of evil and disasters?

Let us examine the holy bible and it's teachings about the God of the bible...

Con must be a theist who believes in the words written in the bible.

God did not create evil the devil did. The devil a.k.a Lucifer was actually the angel of music. He wanted to be above god so he turned away from him. God basically kicked him out heaven and he fell down on the Earth. He eventually convinced other angels to join him and they followed. That's where we get the term fallen angels, which is another term for demons. The devil creates chaos and does everything in his power to be above good. So, he went bad.

If claiming that God did not create evil, then why contradict the pronouncement made by the God of the bible as described by the Lord Almighty himself:

"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." - Isaiah 45:7.

Please cite a passage in the bible that contradicts God's word above.

"And his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse Elohim and die!" But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks, indeed, should we accept only good from Elohim, and not accept evil?" In all this Iyob did not sin with his lips."

<b>@canis, there are many characters that only exist in our imaginations but still influence our world. A good example is Uncle Sam who wears a top-hat while pointing his index finger at you.

If someone were to ask, "Did Uncle Sam influence you to join the Army?"...you would argue that he doesn't exist. Others who are familiar with Uncle Sam's character would say "Yes", "No", "Maybe".

"This debate does not depend on the facts of our reality"... That is true.. But on the other hand religion is a fact of reality. It has influence in/on our world... The Incredible Hulk has not..That is why.
1.There is no god, ( if you eliminate what you where told. And your thought of what it is). 2. Therefore no creator. 3 Therefore no disasters you can not blame someone or something you know. 4. Therefore no evil you can not blame someone. But evil would be your own concept. If not..It does not exist.

@canis, apparently, you are still confused. This debate does not depend on the facts of our reality. It relies on the fact that the bible was written by man whereby the contents written therein are being subject to evaluation. If you are unfamiliar with passages in the bible describing the god of the bible, then obviously this debate does not apply to you canis.

It is liken to asking the question, "can incredible hulk lift a 2-storey building?"...in your case, you would argue that the incredible hulk does not exist. While those familiar with incredible hulk's characteristics will say "yes", "no"n or "maybe".

That does not change facts ...And the answer to: "is the God of the bible the creator of disasters and evil?"
1.There is no god, ( if you eliminate what you where told. And your thought of what it is). 2. Therefore no creator. 3 Therefore no disasters you can not blame someone or something you know. 4. @canis, you're missing the point. It is a fact that the god of the bible does not exist in reality. However, it can exist as an imagination in the minds between those who share the same resource regardless of how irrelevant it may be to you.

If you can't understand this, then you don't have an imagination.

What exist in your mind is irelevant. The facts are still the same.

Therefore no evil you can not blame someone. But evil would be your own concept. If not..It does not exist.

@canis, in this debate, a god of the bible exists between people who share the same resource and agree that it exists in their minds.

It is no different than the value of money. There is no real value in paper or virtual bank accounts. However, because a wide group of people who share the same resource and agree that certain paper can be used to buy material posessions such as houses and cars, the value of money exists.

@lonely-bird, just checked gnostic cosmology. Appears to be yet another invention of an ecosystem for the mind that attempts to explain the universe that can't be substantiated in reality. Thanks for sharing.
