Is the world really going to end? How? When? I think not, the sun still has roughly 5 billion years to it, there are no known meteors on a collision course with earth and no super-volcanoes are going to explode. And December 21st didn't work like they thought so good luck predicting the next death date.

Hello everyone! Without further adeau, let us begin!

1) Analysis of the Resolution.

A) Definitions:

World:
A) the inhabitants of the earth : the human race [1]
B) the earth with its inhabitants and all things upon it [1]
End:
the point where something ceases to exist [2]

B) BOP
The Burden of Proof lies on Pro to prove the world will end at some point in time.

C) The meaning of End:
As long as Pro proves the existence of the world ends at a certain point in time, the resolution is affirmed.

D) Time
Con questions "When" the world will end, therefore this debate will function based on time. Con's arguments must be relative to some sort of time, the increments of which are meaningless.

First: Attacking the Con Case:

TURN- "...the sun still has roughly 5 billion years to it..." [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
After that 5 billion years is up, the world will cease to exist. The resolution has already been affirmed using multiple sources to prove this.

BUT EVEN IF THAT ISN'T ENOUGH,

PRO CASE:

The actions that could lead to the end of the world. (Refer back to the definition, it does not mean JUST the earth)

Nuclear War
Even a war between only 2 small countries with nuclear weapons could lead to extinction.

Anthropocentrism
Our anthropocentric views will lead to a much faster rate of extinction.

Terrorism
Small term terrorism could quickly escalate into an actual war on terror that would destroy all of humanity.

Regional War
Yes that's right, even a small term regional war between to nations could encompass the entire earth, leading to extinction.

Extinction [8]
Humanity can't live forever. Even if someone doesn't buy into any of the above arguments, humanity must be proven to live forever. This is simply shown to be untrue.

More arguments to come. Awaiting Con's responses first.

The world will end by cleansing of fire and a new heaven and a new earth shall be created, therefore yes, the world will eventually end.
