ISIS in the present day has become synonymous with terror & brutality.Never has a terrorist organization done damage & spread horror to such a scale. With it's outstanding usage of cyber networks, it's strength grows in leaps and bounds everyday. This makes extermination of ISIS highly imperative. But I don't really think an all out war against them is the solution.
Many believe that this war against ISIS is 'WW3';a war for the very existence of our civilization agsinst an entity with apocalyptic ambitions. If anything history has taught us is that wars only give birth to subsequent wars. The rise of ISIS has it's roots to poor decision making and implementation of policies post the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the downfall of Saddam Hussein and also instability of democracies in the region.Wars result in loss of lives and property in the millions;it cripples economies and leaves war torn nations at the risk of falling prey to groups like ISIS in the future.Military intervention at ISIS strongholds may have killed a number of ISIS fighters but it's strength only keeps growing;not to mention the gross numbers of civilian casualties. In order to defeat ISIS we need to defeat their ideology, cripple their recruitment and their funding.Turning places like Iraq,Syria and Yemen into proxy war zones is not a solution to bringing ISIS down.Nations around the world have to adopt a multi-faceted approach towards this problem. An all out war is not necessary.
