Is there a such thing written in the Bible, called,"Purgatory?" Do the dead go to limbo?

If the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, 10 "
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6King James Version (KJV)

"5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."

When did purgatory come into existence? When did the Bible promote such views?

If you are asking whether the word "purgatory" is in the bible then there is no real debate to have since obviously there is not. But if you are asking whether the bible talks about and advocates for a place like purgatory as understood by Catholics and Orthodox then you have a real debate. Not sure what you are asking...

Here's a tip... simply posting a Bible passage is not an argument. You need to explain why you believe it supports your claim.
