Torture is a very effective way to get the information needed to make tactile decisions. Why not risk one for many? If the person being tortured is a known terrorist, why should i care about him? Aren't they trying to kill us?

I understand that killing one for many would be easier but don't you think that we are stooping to their level if we are torturing them? Yes they are known terrorists and yes they have killed but the message we are sending is they have killed so we kill in return for our safety. We would just be contradicting ourselves.

In a state of emergency, our safety should be the only priority. War is dirty and sometimes these things need to be done so we can accomplish our goals and feel secure.

Who's to say that these "terrorists" are even telling the truth? There have been many instances where a so-called terrorist has said something just to stop the pain. The misleading information can send us in a different direction where we would not want to go. Also how can we be sure that this person is a terrorist? America's government has accused many innocent people in the past so why or how is this man or woman a terrorist? And if the word got out to the world about Americans killing and torturing innocent people, the world will hate us even more and we would never be trusted. The killing and torturing of innocents can be a great opportunity for the terrorists to plan yet another terrorist attack.

The people that are being interrogated, are people of high value. Ton of research is conducted on the backgrounds of these high value targets before we even begin to ask questions. America does what needs to be done, when it's needed. Torture being one of the many necessary evils. We are the super power of the world. If we don't do it, then we are abandoning an important resource for information.

Yes I understand that we are the super power of the world but what kind of a message are we sending to the world if we are torturing these people. And I also understand that we are looking for the safety of the whole world but that includes them too. These terrorists deserve punishment I know that but torturing them to the point of killing them may give us a bad name and make us just as low as they are. They are human beings too just like the innocents ones so why do they deserve to get killed and be tortured. Also killing people even though they are terrorists is inhumane. We all have morals and we have religious beliefs which does not condone killing at any cost.
