It is very necessary for the govt. to take up responsibilities to prevent global warming. If the govt. does not take then who would do it?

I accept the debate.

The argument here is that the government should take responsibility because nobody else will. This is a view that seems to be held by many people these days. I would like to ask: what exactly is it that the government can do that all these people together cannot? If an issue matters so much, responsibility should not simply be passed off to somebody else.

I argued that govt. should take measures to prevent global warming not that the people should not do any thing to prevent it.If govt. would make necessary rules to prevent global warming the peopled would be forced to obey so.By that means directly or indirectly people are forced to do it.

My opponent proves in her argument that the only way for the resolution be accomplished is through coercion. Her claim that people should prevent global warming does not mean that people should take responsibility for their own actions, but that they should be forced to take responsibility for others' actions. My opponent tries to justify these claims by saying that these rules are necessary, forgetting that that is her resolution. This is circular logic. My opponent has failed to prove that the rules are necessary, so the coercion is thus useless as well as immoral.
