Con

It is morally permissible for victims to use deadly force as a deliberate response to repeated domestic violence. That is the resolved. I will be supporting the con, or Negative side to this debate. To Use deadly force on an individual is to have the intention of of kill them, and to kill someone who has abused you, is only stooping to their level. By killing them, you are valuing your own life over theres. To have proper morals, and then value your life over another is contradicting itself in it's own sense. It is very dangerous as well, for it runs into the law. In many states, It is illegal to kill people even if they have abused you. Killing someone who abused you can make you go to jail.

This is the basic human instinct of survival. Everyone values their own life above others. There is nothing wrong with that.

It is not contradictory. Like I said, everyone values their own life above others. That is basic instinct. For example, if you were locked in a cell with no food with another weaker person, it is very likely that you would turn to eating that person just to survive yourself.

It is very dangerous as well, for it runs into the law. In many states, It is illegal to kill people even if they have abused you. Killing someone who abused you can make you go to jail.

That is not true. Using deadly force as deliberate response, can be justified as self defense. http://en.wikipedia.org...(United_States)

That is legal under the law. The fact that it is repeated domestic violence suggests that this has happened in the past, and either the police are not doing anything about it, or you cannot inform them for fear of your abuser. As a result, you must take matters into your own hands and respond.

The one argument I have is that one always values their own safety above others. That is human nature. As a result, it is only natural and justified that one can use deadly force as a response to abuse. This is even justified by law, as it is self defense. As a result, it is morally permissible, as one always values their own life more, to use deadly force as a deliberate response to repeated domestic violence.

Actually you should look into self defense (both) it is still hell. You will get arrested no matter what, get tried for murder no matter what. And may still get sued. But better that then death. Con is actually correct you will get tangled in the law.
