Framework
The moral framework we will be using will be Thad-the-rad-ism which states that all actions are morally acceptable. If you accept this debate, you accept this moral framework.
The elderly are defined as human beings over the age of 65
Acceptable - meets the minimum requirements
First round is for acceptence. If you want to add something to the framework pm me.
Please note; I am not saying we should only eat the elderly, just that it is morally acceptable.
alligrace181

Con

So what my opponent is saying is that it is morally acceptable to eat the elderly. Just because someone has died or is close to death it doesn't mean it is morally acceptable to consume their body. They are/were people just like us and had souls and lives and a family.
We have enough food and meat on this planet to keep us healthy, without consuming human beings.

Pro

My opponent has not contested any of the framework.

"Just because someone has died or is close to death it doesn't mean it is morally acceptable to consume their body."

Let us review the moral framework; it states that all actions are morally acceptable.
Eating the body of the elderly or recently deceased is an action
Therefore it is morally acceptable.

" They are/were people just like us and had souls and lives and a family."
Irrelevent.
"We have enough food and meat on this planet to keep us healthy, without consuming human beings."
Irrelevent and people taste good.
I didn't think I'd actually get someone that quickly. This was mainly an experiment to see if newer members read the framework.

OK, here's a few tips;
- read the resolution and the framework carefully. Sometimes the instigator is out to trick you, sometimes you can win by twisting his/her words
- Read quite a few debates by some of the more experienced debaters first. It'll help you get a feel for how the debate should go
- Try and debate things you know about and/or are passionate about. Even if you are shown to be wrong you'll have more fun and will be better to debate against.
- Debate to learn. Nothing wrong with changing your mind after being beaten in a serious debate.

Well done. It was bait to see how long it would take to get a sucker. An experiment to see how stupid certain elements of DDO really are...
