Jehovah's Witnesses define "Christian" as "followers of Christ Jesus." (Insight on the Scriptures, Vol. 1, p.439) A Christian must follow not only Jesus' example, but his teachings, and the commands of God's Word in general. Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe any other church has Christians in it because they don't believe other church teach the truth as found in God's Word. So let's judge Jehovah's Witnesses by their own standard - The Word!

Jesus said regarding his TRUE followers, that "the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, WILL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS and will remind you of everything I have said to you." (John 14:26) Romans 8:14 says we have to be led by God's Spirit in order to be his children. So, are Jehovah's Witnesses being led by God's Spirit? Is it the Holy Spirit that teaches them? They claim to be taught by a group called The Faithful and Discreet Slave. Notice what they say about that slave:

"Over a decade later, however, Brother Russell"s wife publicly expressed the idea that Russell himself was the faithful and wise servant. The view that she voiced concerning the identity of the "faithful servant" came to be generally held by the Bible Students for some 30 years. Brother Russell did not reject their view, but he personally avoided making such an application of the text, emphasizing his opposition to the idea of a clergy class commissioned to teach God"s Word in contrast to a lay class that was not thus commissioned. The understanding expressed by Brother Russell in 1881 that the faithful and wise servant was in reality a collective servant, made up of all the members of the spirit-anointed body of Christ on earth, was reaffirmed in The Watch Tower of February 15, 1927." (Jehovah"s Witnesses, Proclaimers of God"s Kingdom, chap 10, pp. 142-143) So first the slave was a all Spirit-anointed Christians, then it was C.T. Russell, then it was back to being all heaven-bound Christians. Do you know who the Faithful Slave is today? They now teach its a small group of about 8 or so men in Brooklyn, called The Governing Body. The 2004 Watchtower of March 1, page 9-10 claimed the Faithful Slave existed since Pentecost 33 CE and was dispensing spiritual food for the last 2000 years, but now they say: "that slave is made up of a small group of anointed brothers who are directly involved in preparing and dispensing spiritual food during Christ"s presence. Throughout the last days, the anointed brothers who make up the faithful slave have served together at headquarters. In recent decades, that slave has been closely identified with the Governing Body of Jehovah"s Witnesses." https://www.google.com...

It was not the Holy Spirit that taught them these doctrines. These are doctrines of men. True Christians don't need to change their doctrines because when the Holy Spirit guides them, leads them, He leads them in the truth. Jehovah's Witnesses are being led into error by men in Brooklyn. The proof that they are followers of men and not of Christ is that they change their doctrines to suit the men in Brooklyn whenever they change their minds. Millions of people who can't see these are lies because they don't listen to the Spirit of God.

Jehovah's Witnesses are false prophets. They prophesied falsely:
"True, it is expecting great things to claim, as we do, that within the coming twenty-six years all present governments will be overthrown and dissolved. In view of this strong Bible evidence concerning the Times of the Gentiles, we consider it an established truth that the final end of the kingdoms of this world, and the full establishment of the Kingdom of God, will be accomplished at the end of A. D. 1914. Be not surprised, then, when in subsequent chapters we present proofs that the setting up of the Kingdom of God is already begun, that it is pointed out in prophecy as due to begin the exercise of power in A.D. 1878, and that the "battle of the great day of God Almighty" (Rev. 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced. The gathering of the armies is plainly visible from the standpoint of God's Word." Studies In the Scriptures Series II - The Time Is At Hand (1889) pp.99, 101. Please read Deuteronomy 18:20-22 and tell me how a false prophet can be a Christian. Jesus warned that false prophets would come, didn't He? Hear them:

"the "battle of the great day of God Almighty" (Rev. 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1915, with the complete overthrow of earth"s present rulership, is already commenced." "The Time Is At Hand, 1915 edition, p. 101

"Also, in the year 1918, when God destroys the churches wholesale and the church members by millions, it shall be that any that escape shall come to the works of Pastor Russell to learn the meaning of the downfall of "Christianity." " "The Finished Mystery, 1917, p. 485

"1925 shall mark the resurrection of the faithful worthies of old".based upon the promises set forth in the divine Word, we must reach the positive and indisputable conclusion that millions now living will never die." "Millions Now Living Will Never Die, 1920, p. 97

What do they say a false prophet is? "Individuals and organizations proclaiming messages that they attribute to a super human source but that do not originate with the true God and are not in harmony with his revealed will." "Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, 1989, p. 132. By claiming that the Bible teaches these doctrines, Witnesses attribute them to a super human source. Hear them: "The scroll was doubtless delivered to Ezekiel by the hand of one of the cherubs in the vision. This would indicate that Jehovah"s witnesses today make their declaration of the good news of the Kingdom under angelic direction and support. (Rev. 14:6,7; Matt. 25:31, 32) And since no word or work of Jehovah can fail, for he is God Almighty, the nations will see the fulfillment of what these witnesses say as directed from heaven. Yes, the time must come shortly that the nations will have to know that really a "prophet" of Jehovah was among them." "The Watchtower, April 1, 1972, p. 200.

Christians are not dogmatic people. Listen to their dogmatism: "Surely there is not the slightest room for doubt in the mind of a truly consecrated child of God that the Lord Jesus is present and has been since 1874"." "The Watch Tower, January 1, 1924, p. 5

The Scriptures proclaim that there is one, and only one God in all of existence. (Deu 4:35; Isa 43:10-11; 44:6, 8; 45:5-6, 14, 21-22; 46:9; Mal 2:10; Rom 3:30; 1 Cor 8:6; Eph 4:6; Jam 2:19) It also says that there is only one true God. (John 17:3; 1 John 5:20) This means that all other gods are false. Now, Scripture plainly identifies the Son as God in John 20:28. The term "my God" refers to the true God every single time it is used in the Bible outside of John 20:28, establishig the consistent linguistic use of the term. Thomas here calls Jesus in the Greek, ho kurious mou kai ho theos mou, literally, the Lord of me and the God of me. So John 20:28 calls Jesus the God of Thomas, and in verse 29 Jesus approves. Now since there is only one true God, either Jesus was the true God in John 20:28, or a false god. Which is it? Jesus is also call "mighty God" (Isa 9:6), "God" (John 1:1), "our God and Savior" (2 Peter 1:1). Jehovah's Witness contradict the monotheism of the Bible by teaching that Jesus is ANOTHER god in addition to Jehovah. This blasphemy. You can't be a Christian and promote other gods. Do they not promote Jesus? Do they not teach he is a god? Another god besides Jehovah?

They don't even know the Holy Spirit who leads all true sons of God, because Acts 13:1-4 has a personal Holy Spirit but they say he's a force!

SongHaGin, you probably shouldn't make such ridiculous claims without knowing his past.

Perhaps read the book daley wrote, entitled "The Gospel Truth" which describes the journey of a JW named Kamal as he witnesses to a Christian who ends up converting him through the use of his own scriptures. It is based on his own life.

They are christians until they get baptized, then they are witnesses. You shouldn't talk about an organization you know nothing about.

Yessir you do win. It would not be fair to post anything now due to the fact that I had to forfeit sevral rounds. Congratulations on the win. I apologize for not responding; I have been so busy with final exams that I even forget to breathe sometimes (not literally). Haha. I will be more than happy to debate with you again on this same topic and no forfeits haha. Congrats again. Vote Daley

@persianimmortal, it's not that there are few people who actually know what they're doing; it's that the few people who actually don't know what they're doing are usually louder than most :)

It doesn't matter what JW call themselves, they are still annoying. I'm catholic but I'm told I'm not a Christian. I could care less...I believe what I know I should believe and that's all that matters.
