Being Pro, I support that the Christian god has not done everything in his power to save his people from eternal damnation.

He may have given us the opportunity to be saved, but this is presuming that he exists. The biggest step of all is to believe that he exists, and I do not believe he has done everything in his might to prove to everyone he exists either.

It is up to con to prove that he has done everything in his power to save us from eternal damnation. Already, billions of people are suffering in hell (supposing he exists of course) because he has not done everything in his power to prevent this.

Hello, and thank you for bringing up this debate. i go to a christian school... which might help me :P

first off, i would like to quote you
"He may have given us the opportunity to be saved, but this is presuming that he exists. The biggest step of all is to believe that he exists, and I do not believe he has done everything in his might to prove to everyone he exists either. "
Also, to make things easier, I beleive in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Let us pretend (even if you don't) that you refer to thge christian faith as if it is real, so we don't get completely off topic... I worded that wrong, best I can do.

Why does he have to prove it? All religion is based around faith, and you took up a scientific standpoint. You don't "beleive" in science, you back it with evidence. Religion is the exact opposite. You put your faith in him, and that alone can and will save you from hell.

I want to quote some things, that will hopefully show that he does not have to prove himself and be physically here to be known to everyone, because it is pure faith

Scripture is clear that if you seek, you will find (Deut. 4:29). Of course, "seek" means seek, and God responds to a serious and diligent effort (Prov. 2:1-6; Matt. 7:7-11).

If you put FAITH in him, he proves himself. Why should he prove himself to probably don't even care

I beleive Jesus did enough. He shouldn't have to say "wow, we are in a desolate land with no technology. heres a computer, go play." No, he doesn't have to, and he shouldn't have to. People that contstantly perform miracles are fakes.... Like ancient egyptians, many of there prophets utilized this stuff that made wild sparks and then small explosions as signs... Stupid. We know how to do that now, but what HAVEN'T we figured out? How to cure cripples, leppers, and the bling with skin and saliva. Jesus performed miracles to better the world, and many others did to wow people. Jesus wanted people to beleive in him trhough truth, not through amazing acts.

ew.

Yes, those three buddies are included. "Triune"

"Why does he have to prove it? All religion is based around faith, and you took up a scientific standpoint. You don't "beleive" in science, you back it with evidence. Religion is the exact opposite. You put your faith in him, and that alone can and will save you from hell."

If your religion is based solely on blind faith, then why do you deny all the other gods of every other religion? Or is it perhaps because you think you have evidence in support for your god? How do we KNOW whether or not God exists? How do we KNOW which religion to choose? If God just appeared and showed himself, billions of people would not have to burn in hell. How can you justify the eternal suffering of billions of people simply because they had "faith" in the wrong religion? How were they supposed to know which religion was the right one?

Heck, basically, why is to God, faith superior to rational thinking?

I don't neccisarily beleive that if you are a different religion, then you burn in hell. All sins are equal, and you are judged on your heart.

How do we know an atom exsists? How about the ozone layer? How about gravity? How about intelligent life? Whether people admit it or not, space is infinate, and it'd be extremely ignorant of us to assume that other intelligent life didn't exsist. How was EVERYTHING created, even space? The only answers we have are God, and he proved himself to me.

"I don't neccisarily beleive that if you are a different religion, then you burn in hell. All sins are equal, and you are judged on your heart."

Um, isn't the whole point of the Christian theology that if you do not accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior you will go to hell?

"How do we know an atom exsists? How about the ozone layer? How about gravity? How about intelligent life? Whether people admit it or not, space is infinate, and it'd be extremely ignorant of us to assume that other intelligent life didn't exsist. How was EVERYTHING created, even space? Obviously, you don't know something about SCIENCE. We can show you with evidence that an atom exists. When can show you how our ozone layer even FORMED. All the rest, we've verified and tested with science. God of the Gaps, ever heard? God isn't our only answer. If he was, we'd be cavemen still.

But besides that, my opponent has completely missed the point of the debate. He has failed to show why Jesus Christ has done everything in his power to save people from hell. His only argument was that we should have faith, and that was shown to be easily refuted, so vote pro!

I don't feel debating with someone quite as ignorant as you. I'm not calling you ignorant for beleiving in God, because i just recently converted from athiasm, but if you guys look at his arguements, he twisted things around and lied.

Also
I meant how did the Greeks know an atom exsists. I kinda-sorta worked it into an anology, because you can't EVER be 100% sure about something unless you can harness it and see it... Hence gravity and the ozone layer

While you are asking God to provide for you and your family during the coming collapse of the U.S. ecocnomy, be sure that you are stockpiling food!

"A flood forced a man to take refuge on the roof of his house, when a boat came by and offered to rescue him. The man told his would be rescuers that God would save him and refused to get in the boat.

Later the water rose even more, another boat came by and again offered to rescue him, but he told them that God would save him.

The water continued to rise, and the man clung desperately to the chimney, because the water had completely coverd the roof.

A hellicopter came by and offered to rescue the man, again he told the rescuers that God would save him. The hellicopter left him on the chimney.

The man drowned, and upon entering heaven he asked Jesus why He didn't save him; Jesus replied , "What did you expect, a firery chariot driven by a host of angels?" I sent you two boats and a hellicopter!"

God allowed him to rule, (Satan to rule after Adams fall.)
-so his power would be seen (Satans power to be seen, Giants upon the world was from Satan)
-and satan be defeated by God. (God defeated Satan and saved humanity)

"Well those terms might not be so unjust if there wasn't another religion that said if you do believe jesus is divine they your going to hell."

Jesus showed the people who were captive by Satan the truth about Himself, and ministered all truths about Himself. Other religions are destroyed when you look upon Jesus, the truth becomes bright within your eyes, as looking into the sun itself.

You are wrong about your judgments of the human mind. What you have sown within yourself on earth will be revealed when you die. You are not yourself after death. Can you understand this?
Knowledge cannot help you when you die. It is better to have a clean soul then all the knowledge of this world. For a corrupted soul will lead you astray, you will be pull here and there without your knowing.

"God allowed him to rule, so his power would be seen and satan be defeated by God. "

How does this make any sense what so ever... ?

"Those within darkness before Jesus were given the chance to belieive, since they died.
That is fair no? Or do you still say our Lord is unjust?"

Well those terms might not be so unjust if there wasn't another religion that said if you do believe jesus is divine they your going to hell.

Zerosmelt.

Adam was given the crown of grace within the garden, and was given the power to rule all things over the earth. When he fell, so did his power and kingship over the earth, and satan took the throne for himself. He was not king only steward, and God allowed him to rule, so his power would be seen and satan be defeated by God. Those within darkness before Jesus were given the chance to belieive, since they died.
That is fair no? Or do you still say our Lord is unjust?

When you die your will see the light and run in fear, for you are darkness. But our Lord and family seek to remove this darkness from you if willing. You have no idea of the spirit relm or death.

Must I repeat myself, or do you seek to hear?
The fires of hell have not yet kindled!

"Seeing as I already know who's not going to believe me (and heck, I could even avoid the mere existence of non-believers) then I'd take full responsibility for it. I would NOT send them to an eternal damnation and torture in Hell. That'd just make me one sick, irresponsible, cruel, megalomaniac and sadistic individual."

God does not send people to hell. People do that them selves. God does not feel pleasure in ones pain and agany. For as it says in the bible " These six things the LORD hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him.... And one who sows discord among brethren."

We are apart of God's family and god does not like to see us cry but he also has to follow the rules him self. That's what Jesus did. Some may say christians dont follow the rules all the time and that is true. Sometimes we do things that aren't right but we try to make up for it. TRUE Christians at least. Not the people who say they are Christians go to church two times a year, only pray when it comes to thanks giving dinner and who never take the time to read the word of God.

Zerosmelt. I know were your coming from but i don't neccesarily think you or any of the members you mentiond are going to hell. Infact its not up to me to judge . I can TELL you what the bible says but you may not believe. Now i don't know any of your ages but im guessing maybe the oldest out of all the non believers here is 50. ( don;t take offense at that im just guessing). You still have time in your life to make decisions. Either good or bad. Zerosmelt i can't really tell what will happen the day you die, like i said before i can tell you what the bible says. Some members believe strongly that your going to hell but i dunno man. I think Christians should like Athiests. I dont mean that in a perverted way but when it comes to religion Ahtiest make good debaters. Debating another christian , really wouldn't go any where. Maybe God has a plan for Athiests. Maybe its hell , or something greater...

"That'd just make me one sick, irresponsible, cruel, megalomaniac and sadistic individual."

unfortunately some christians wouldn't argue that that's a prtty accurate view of god... lol.

really though how sic is it that religious ppl actually believe that other ppl are going to burn in hell FOREVER. just take the ppl on this site for example. I'm sure that many ppl on this site really believe in their hearts that Ragnar rahl, Puck, Rezzealaux, Blessed-Cheese-Maker, brian_eggleston, PoeJoe, s0m31john, myself, you Arnaud, etc.. etc.. are all really going to burn in eternal misery... eternal as in FOREVER. they really believe this. its sick!
