As you can see, Joe Montana dominates basically every category except for interceptions and completion percentage. [1]

Regular Season Record:

This is a critical part of a QB. Their record. Supported by the table above, Joe Montana's record is 100-39-0. (with the 49ers)
As supported by the table above, Steve Young's record is 94-49-0.

This helps the 49ers out a lot because it helps them win, which makes the QB better for the team, which is trying to be proven here.

Post Season Record:

It all matters about pulling through in the clutch, right? It helps the team out. Joe Montana has a record of 16-7 in the postseason. A great record. It shows he can help out the team by coming through in the playoffs.

Steve Young has a record of 8-6 in the postseason. This is still an average record, but it doesn't compare to Joe Montana's 16-7 record. [2]

Super Bowl wins:

Joe Montana has won 4 Super Bowls (3 being MVP [3]) in his career with the 49ers.

Steve Young has only won 1 with his career. (49ers)

Joe Montana has contributed to the 49ers by winning them 4 Super Bowls.

I am not saying Steve Young is bad, but I believe these things prove Joe Montana was a better QB for the 49ers than Steve Young.

Con, you're turn.

Sorry, not that good with the league's history in the fuccking 30s and 40s.... and before you call me dumb, you might want to spell "you're" right. 20,000 yards is nothing.

Your dumb. He didnt play in afl. And he played in 11 game seasons in the 30s and 40s. Was league leading passer numerous times

He only has 20,000 yards... which is horrible compared to how long he was in the NFL/AFL.

If sammy Baugh had today's playbook he would have 75000 yards
