Kids should be allowed to eat and receive junk food at school. The reason why they can't right now is because they're "obese". This is not true. Sure some kids are obese- but why should everyone be punished? Kids should be allowed to eat/receive junk food at school.

Con

Junk food means unhealthy food or food that tastes good but is high in calories and little in nutrition and obviously junk food should be banned in the school because it is not nutritious and does not give any positive effect in our body. If the students will keep on eating junk foods of course it has a bad side effects in their body which can affect their studies and also to their health. that's why the school must not tolerate the selling of junk foods inside the campus or school.

Yes, junk food is high in calories and low in nutrition. But the school has no right to tell kids what they can and cannot eat. Also the school has a chance to increase their profits if they decided to sell junk food, thus making a better learning environment- this could boost studies. They should allow junk food in schools because it increases profits for schools and it's the students right to eat whatever they choose.

You're right, The students has the rights to choose what food they want to eat but we must not forget that It's also part of the teacher's responsibility to take good care of the health of their students whatever happens, Our teacher is our 2nd parents. They loves their students and they don't want something bad happen to their students so it's just normal for the teachers to tell them what's good for them. Even our mother "The Pure one" Will surely do the same. Because they also loves us.

Yes, sure they are trying to protect us- but really once you get to middle school you should be allowed to choose for yourself. Yes, mothers want us to be healthy but having some junk food for lunch at school isn't all that bad. It's not like its ALL the kids will ONLY be eating junk food all day. And with that I conclude, Students should be allowed to eat junk food at school to boost moral, make them more responsible, and learn to be independent.

You didn't set a parameter in which school you mean. first i thought it's in the ELEMENTARY where prohibiting junk foods is common. That made us confuse, You should have clarify it first. Okay, It's not bad to follow the instruction given to us by our teachers because all they want for us is nothing but for our own Good. We can't say that we need to be independent because the purpose why we have the teacher is to teach us what's good and every schools has its LAW which should be followed.

Reasons for voting decision: Con's arguments on dietetics were strong, but it was their argument on the responsibility of teachers on ensuring the health of their students that gives them arguments. Pro did *not* refute Con's arguments, and the maturity of choice, as cited by Con, refuted all of Pro's arguments.
