My opening argument is simple: Katie Hopkins shouldn't be on telly as she is just on telly to insult people such as her most recent fat people argument, she has put on weight to try and prove that "it is easy to lose weight" despite the fact that some people have medical conditions that prevent that.

Therefore Katie Hopkins should not be on telly due to her predisposition to insult people.

I, like you, agree that Katie Hopkins is, to say the least, a very judgmental human being. However to say she should not be on telly is to deny her viewers a sight of how ugly her viewpoint can be.
Katie Hopkins is an example of the ignorance and hostility that many, having not seen her, could fall into becoming.
She has become a beacon, thanks to all of her negative publicity, of the type of person we should all try not to be.
Debate Round No. 1

Katie Hopkins has become a beacon of someone we should try not to be. However, i believe that now she has become this beacon, she should't be on telly as no-one needs to see her judge people anymore, they all know what she is like due to the negative publicity.

Her viewers do not need to see how ugly her viewpoint is as she is a singular person with these views and insults people for a living.

She shouldn't be on telly as it gains publicity for her views and may 'convert' others to her views.

Katie Hopkins being on telly serves another purpose. The nature of broadcasting on the shows Katie has been on (such as The Late Shows) is that they choose a opinionated, sometimes unstable, speakers. This makes a caricature of Katie's personality; making it easier to see her as a polar villain (as we surly must due to presenters like Holly Willoghby's reaction) thus it teaches a lesson.

Further than this to see such a caricatured tale is to say the least provocative and entertaining.

Well, my opponent has forfeited. It was a pleasure debating with you, even for such a brief time; I wish you the best of luck for your future debates.

I would like to end with a comment on my argument. That ultimately TV is there to entertain us and without the "Big Personality"s" like Katie Hopkins surely to a large proportion of us this form of entertainment would be lost thus negating the spirit of mass entertainment television provides. Thank you again and farewell.

This source shows the appeal of big personalitys to huge numbers on tv despite somewhat imoral behavior (Phil Robertsons homophobic comments on Duck dynasty)

Is she the one that divorced Tom Cruise?
