This Debate is on whether kids in elementary school and younger need cellphones

By elementary school and younger I mean 6th grade and younger

By cellphones I mean any type of cellphone and smartphone

Kids this young do not need cell/smart phones and should not receive a cellphone until they are in 7th grade or higher. Most kids at this age are not going out to parties or events were their parents do no know where they are. At this age kids should be playing outside and hanging out with friends or playdates instead being addicted to their phones like the rest of the world is.

Situations are common in a school. And for quick access to the kid's parents, the school office, or 911, a cellphone is needed. And the school probably won't let that kid use a phone from the office.

What do you mean by "situations?"

In most real emergencies the kids will be able to use the school phone

Also the school has a responsibility to the children if some one needs to call a parent they eventually will have to call a parent the if the abandoned their students the school would get in a lot of trouble
