I believe that students should have less days of school per week. One reason is that everyone will save a lot of money. That is because parents will save gas money because of less travel everyday to school and back. Also, the school will save money because of less pay for the workers (teachers, custodians). My second reason is that it will affect outside-of-school life. Many kids have bipolar disorder or stress issues and school can trigger the bad side of those problems. Teachers also will be able to get a second job with more time to help the low pay of their salary. Finally, students themselves will perform better. The students will have less stress and more time to work on the excessive homework and projects. You could argue that the U.S. needs to have as much school as possible because of the competing countries outdoing the U.S. as of late. But kids need less school because of all the stress from 5 days of heavy school and homework. In conclusion, school needs to slow down and reduce the school week to 4 days!
I thought you made many well thought out statements you your argument. Though I feel like the argument itself isn't legitimate enough to debate. If this actually went through at a school level, what would you do for the school year (Summer VK). You would have to cut out many vacations which children thoroughly enjoy. Also your argument in saving resources isn't a real issue at all. Due to how in Northern states and anywhere else people will go on vacations wasting even more resources.
Also HW amount is another argument itself. Also teachers are people too, so cutting out there pay check is a catastrophic loss for people in America, this will not motivate people to be teachers, most important job in America.
