In this debate, I will be arguing that K-POP "Korean Popular Music" is, in fact, worse than American Pop "American Popular Music".

Korea is a peninsula in the continent of Asia, split into two countries-North and South Korea. And here we have our first problem: audience. The United States has 304 million people living in it, while the population of South Korea is only 50 million people. As a result, far more people are there to spread around the news of a latest pop song, and therefore far more people from not only the American continent but all over the world listen to and enjoy American popular music. Plus, the country of North Korea exercises extreme censorship over Internet communication, making the spread of Korean popular music much harder.

American culture "Americana" has spread across and influenced the world. Korean culture, on the other hand, has not reached the influence of Americana. As a result, cultural references made in Korean popular music cannot reach the audience that American cultural references do.

Um you are much wrong.... North korea Isn't Kpop they barely have anything to communicate outside, and yes that means u r right but they aren't included.

Watch this video https://youtu.be...
And this https://youtu.be...

Many requests from different countries and I'm from Australia

If Kpop wasn't popular then why is there k con? In China there is soo many fans
Sure they may not be AS popular yet but they are rising like PSY Gangnam style came 2nd or the US chartboard or something. I see way more global fans around the world than some other like celebs Taylor swift.

Plus I don't see a rock really upbeat song from Justin bieber he only does a particular genre while Big Bang can do rock (Song https://youtu.be...) and then a calm sad kind of one (https://youtu.be...) and got7 a happy and colourful one which most boy band or solo singer's don't do colourful, (just right the song ) and a dark angry song (if you do)

(*^o^*) also Kpop artists and bands has usually one person in the group or more that can speak English and other languages, Like CL from 2NE1 and Irene from Red Velvet they both can speak English, and also Bam Bam can speak Thai. What good about this is that they can communicate to international fans.

They do come from different countries sometimes but that's good to know they accept different people and while American pop doesn't really because one direction doesn't seem to speak many languages other than English and maybe one or two others maybe.
