As long as the person does not step onto their land and stay where the water mark is its not trespassing

I'll ignore your resolution and treat your first argument as one, frankly it's better phrased.

By what grounds can property rights end at a water line? How does a mere chemical compound like water put an end to the abstraction of property rights? If we follow your reasoning I can just splash water on your house and it's not yours anymore.

Ownership of property is not limited to mere dry land. Property is taken from nature by means of improving what is there, that is, by making use of it, by building up something different than what had been there where no prior claims existed. This can occur in many domains, not just soil- it occurs in the sea when you make a fish farm or build an undersea mine, in a lake where you create a bridge or a dock, in radio frequencies when you broadcast where no man has broadcasted before, on a dome where you build a breathable atmosphere. Of course they should probably let you know, with a sign or something, and you can always dispute the specific claims of Lake Michigan types- I don't know what they built to make the beach theirs (other than the house, I don't know how far that applies though), but the principle of property knows no element. Water, rock, dirt, doesn't matter.

Forfeiting a round is not a legitimate argument for cancelling the property rights of homeowners. It is however legitimate minor inductive evidence that you are not adequately prepared to form a position on the topic.

You have no argument to establish your assertion that property rights are cancelled by water. You have not even demonstrated an understanding of the nature of property. In the future I advise a more careful selection of debates.

That said, I know nothing of the topic, but good luck.

I'd advise getting a stronger resolution next time, because there are plenty of debaters who'll use a tactic like abuse of the resolution.
