We will be discussing what team is overall the best nba team, throughout the teams starting point to the present point. I will be discussing why the lakers are a better team through the nba team life span.
The Celtics are the best team in NBA history. They have the most NBA championships in the history with 17. They won 11 World Championships in 13 years. This was between 1957-1969. They won two championships in the 1970's. The Celtics Dynasty took a turn for the best when they drafted Larry Bird out of Indiana State. He brought them back to the promised land. They won three titles in the 1980's. They won in 1981, 1984, 1986. They also lost in the championship in 1981, 1985, 1987. That means in the 1980's they went to SIX different NBA finals. This means they were best team in the Eastern Conference 6 out of 10 years in the 1980's. The Celtics made the first superstar team by trading for Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen in the same off-season. They went on to win the title that year giving them number 17. The Celtics throughout their history have gone on to 21 NBA finals. They were founded in 1946. They have been in existence for 65 years. They have been in the championship on an average of every three years.
If you talk about players the Celtics still win the argument. They have Bill Russell who won 11 world championships in his 13 years as a player. No player has more world championships then him. The Celtics have more hall of fame players than the Lakers. The Celtics as a team have won 10 total MVP awards which is the NBA record. The four players who won those awards are Dave Cowens, Larry Bird, Bill Russell, and Bob Cousy. The Celtics have 28 total Hall of Fame Players. The Lakers have 18 total Hall of Fame Players. That is a difference of 10 Total Players. With those TEN players you could play a normal basketball game against each other.
Just ask Lakers Hall of Famer and arguably their best player Jerry West about the Celtics. He has been quoted as to saying that people around him are not allowed to wear the color green. He still hates the color green to this day. He never beat the Celtics in a championship but lost to them in 1962,1963,1965,1966,and 1969. Overall the Lakers have lost 8 different times to the Celtics in the NBA Finals. The Lakers have only beaten the Celtics on three separate occasions.
well you already put info in round 1 ok. This round i will be talking about the history since it first started in 1947 purchase of a disbanded team the Detroit Gems from the NBL. After they bought the team they moves the team first to Minneapolis, Minnesota calling themselves the Lakers in honor of the states nickname, "Land of the 10,000 Lakes." Lakers won five championships in Minneapolis propelling by star player center George Mikan who is described by the NBA official website as the leagues "First Superstar". The Lakers relocated to Los Angeles before the 1960-1961 Season and made the NBA Finals six times in the 1960s. In the 1960s to 1970s they came across allot of hall of famers that ill be talking more about next round. Such as Elgin Baylor and Jerry West that the La Lakers to the championship 6 times like i stated in the other paragraph. Then in the 1970s that is when even more talent came people that everyone knows and looks up to in the present time starting with one of the greatest players of all time Wilt Chamberlain 4 time MVP that was recruited by the Lakers after the 1969-1970 season most remembered when he scored 100 points in a single game as center and brought the LA Lakers to there six NBA Title, led by new head coach Bill Sharman. After Jerry West and Chamberlain retired from the team the Lakers Acquired another MVP Center Kareem Abdul Jabber, and MVP Magic Johnson that has played every position once in his NBA career and both won several MVP Awards Then in the 1980s the Lakers were called "Showtime" due to their Magic Johnson-led fast break defense and won five championships in the 9 year lifespan also helped by Future Hall of Famer James Worthy Small Forward for the Lakers, and a Hall of Fame Coach Pat Riley. Two of those championships were won by there rivals Celtics. After Abdul-Jabber and Magic Johnson retired they retired it took a while to reboot but started rebooting in the 1900s. In the 1900s the team acquired Two more future Hall of Famers and Multiple MVP winners one is still playing Kobe Bryant or by Nickname (Black Mamba), and Shaquille O'Neal in 1996. Led by Kobe and Shaq and led by another Head Coach, Phil Jackson, the Lakers won 3 consecutive titles between 2000 to 2002, securing its franchise its first "Three Peat'. Then the Lakers won two more championships by defeating the Orlando Magic in 2009 and Boston Celtics in 2010 The Lakers hold the record for the NBA's Longest Winning Streak with (33), set during the 1971-1972 Season. Sixteen Hall of Famers have played for Los Angeles, while four of them have coached the team. Four Lakers-Kareem-Abdul Jabber, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant and Shaq O'Neal- Have won the NBA Most Valuable Player Awards for a total of eight awards. The Arenas of the Lakers was the Minneapolis Auditorium from 1947 to 1960, then relocated to Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena for Seven Years, then relocated again to The Forum were they played there to 1967 to 1999, then moved again relocated to Staple Center were there are located at the present time.

The first most important thing to building the dynasty that is called the Boston Celtics was hiring a coach. They needed a leader, and they found him in Red Auerbach. He goes down as arguably the best coach of all time. The Celtics did have a little luck early by landing Bob Cousy after the Stags went bankrupt. Cousy was nicknamed the Houdini of the hardwood. Auerbach made quite possibly the most important trade in trading a lot for an unproven player. This player happened to be named Bill Russell. Russell first joined the Celtics in 1956, which also happened to be the first year the Celtics won the NBA Championship. Those two all important moves formed the Celtics into the greatest franchise in the history on the National Basketball Association.
More history was made by the Celtics in 1964 they were the first team in the NBA to have an all black starting line-up. From 1956-1969 The Celtics won ELEVEN championships. The seventy's for the Celtics were average to them, but to any other team it would be a phenomenal decade. They only won two championships in that decade. To the Celtics this wasn't enough. In the Eighty's they were back to their winning ways winning three championships and playing in five NBA finals. That means half of the decade saw the Celtics in the NBA finals. The ninety's were horrible after Larry Bird retired. The Celtics would continue to struggle until two trades changed the Celtics for the best. They acquired Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. Those two future Hall of Famers teamed up with Paul Pierce to form the league's big three. Those were three of the best players in the game all on one team. They won the NBA title in 2008, but lost to the Lakers in 2010 after Kendrick Perkins blew out his knee. The Celtics have successfully won their division the last four years.
