While that's not technically false, I believe it's semantically untrue - forfeiting I think implies a degree of conscious choice, and you didn't choose to run out of time, the clock ran itself out. Maybe that's part of your point about the constrictions of a left-libertarian society, that ANY degree of limited freedom itself reduces ALL freedoms. I think that reading is fascinating, but ultimately flawed: what of our natural unfreedoms? Certainly nature itself affords us limitations.
