I think schools should lift bans on sodas and sugary drinks because some children can contain themselves after a Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Gatorade, PowerAde, and Sprite. The only drinks that should be banned are energy drinks like Red Bull, Monster, MIO ENERGY, etc. because they give people lots of energy and Mountain Dew which contains Yellow 5 which increases behavior issues.

I thank Pro for making this debate.

Soda bans are in place because schools recognize the problem childhood obesity represents and more and more are deciding not to contribute to the problem. The standard soda ban is a ban on sales of soda at said location it does not ban individuals from bringing soda from home.

Pro’s argument about hyperactivity is not the focus of a soda ban

I have included a video on one of the more recent places to enact a soda ban, Children's Mercy Hospital. It cites the medical issue that result from childhood obesity

Also, you are aware that the reason soda is banned from school has ostensibly nothing to do with supposed hyperactivity, right? It's always couched in terms of unhealthy diets/obesity/diabetes.

Please provide a better definition for "soda". In my opinion redbull is a soda...

Reasons for voting decision: FF. Arguments were very similar in my view, so i'll leave it tied. S&G and sources are even also.
