(NOTE THIS IS A TROLL DEBATE) (ALSO NO STRUCTURE TO THIS DEBATE)
I believe students forming attachments to teachers is just Stockholm syndrome talking as the are being held by force and sacrificed to the God of nawledge.

Stockholm syndrome
" noun Psychiatry.

an emotional attachment to a captor formed by a hostage as a result of continuous stress, dependence, and a need to cooperate for survival.

Well, even if we supposed that Stockholm syndrome, as defined by Pro, could be applied to this situation, you will find that for example in Finland, teachers are very well appreciated, even though the length and hardness of their 'capture' is less intense than, say, in the US (1). Meaning that hardship and attachment are unrelated, as, in the logical sense, more hardship and feeling of stress mean more attachment.

To make use of common sense, teachers are people like everyone else, and classes are more or less imposed on them, as, although they choose the profession, they cannot not take a class if they don't feel like it. Thus, we could assume they would develop Stockholm syndrome themselves, whether towards the door, plant or headmaster, depending if the latter is present in the school or has a heavy hand on the pay slip.

Furthermore, the reason why they cannot not take a class is because they would not get their pay if a self certification form or a doctor's statement is not submitted (2). A pay, by definition, is money given in return for work or services (3). This means that it is really the headmaster that is taking pupils hostage, through subcontracting. Teachers are really only puppets.

1. Con wrongly stated that Finnish teachers are nicer than Murican ones. Since in Finland, they beat children with other children when the children get the answer wrong. Therefor, the capture is still stressful enough to cause stockholms.

B. Teachers do develop stockholms towards potted plants and their desk. I mean look at them, they are at the desk all the time and they care for the desk. The desk enslaves them, and yet, the teachers can't live without the desk. Look at all dat Stockholmness.

Aardvark. The teachers are actually sub-puppet as the headmaster is controlled by alien illuminati. Since the students spend their captured lives mostly fraternizing with the teachers, the stockholms is 2 stronk wth tchers.

Now I will say why attachments are just stockholms. Kids can't leave the school or else they will be captured by the police and be forced to go back to school. THAT IS A TEXTBOOK EXAMPLE OF KIDNAPPING. Since they are kidnapped and put under stressful enviorments, they develop bonds with teachers to ensure their survival. Kids are kept at school 26/9 and are sacrificed to the God of Nolege. Since it is stressful being sacrificed, they bond with teachers (stockholms). LOOK AT ALL THAT STOCKHOLMNESS,

First, Pro stated that I stated that Finnish teachers are nicer than American ones. That is false. I did say that teachers are more appreciated but not that they were nicer. Indeed, the students' perception of teachers is just better, because teachers are better trained and have worked very hard to get to their position (1). This inspires great esteem. This leads me to say that Pro should find better sources and if he does find sources that are trustworthy, he should state them more accurately. Indeed I do not think that such practices as"beat[ing] children with other children when the children get the answer wrong".

Secondly, Pro is agreeing with me. Which is nice. So I just wanted to emphasize all that niceness.

Concerning the headmasters' submission to Illuminati, that might be right and I wouldn't mind having the sources to read about it. Until then, I have to disagree with that argument, as, after years of searching, I have not found any proof of it. I think it would be nice of Pro to enlighten all of us.

ISO 8601 is a standard put in place by the International Organization for Standardization (2). The purpose of this standard is to provide an unambiguous and well-defined method of representing dates and times, when data is transferred between countries with different conventions for writing numeric dates and times. It uses the seven days a week system and the twenty four hours a week system. So I'm guessing that whichever country Pro comes from, he also uses that system. If not, how does he call the extra two days? Thank you.

In the state of New Jersey, students are not 'captured' by the police the instant they skip classes. There is a list of procedures (3). In the Student Attendance Policies And Procedures Compliance Checklist, there are a number of procedures that schools have to follow. One of the first is to notify the legal guardians. This goes against the idea of capture, as, in most cases, if you your legal guardians tell you to go somewhere, 1. it is for your own good and 2. the legal guardians can excuse the absence of their child, therefore the capture is not compulsory.

Last but not least, here are the symptoms of Stockholm Syndrome (4).

In order for Stockholm syndrome to occur in any given situation, at least three traits must be present:
  1. A severely uneven power relationship in which the captor dictates what the prisoner can and cannot do;
  2. The threat of death or physical injury to the prisoner at the hands of the captor;
  3. A self-preservation instinct on the part of the prisoner.
Although you might (a very improbable might) consider number 1 to be true (although I would emphasize the importance of "severely"), number 2 is wrong, and number 3 is wrong, because there is no need for self-preservation from death. You could argue students need self-preservation from other factors, but that is not the subject of the debate. Therefore, Pro's statement that "liking teachers is just Stockholm syndrome" is wrong, because there are no symptoms of such a condition.

A. Being nice is one way of being appreciated, and since they are not nice, they are not appreciated. While they are MORE appreciated, they are still hated. And by "beat[ing] children with other children when the children get the answer wrong", i mean they make kids go outside after every lesson (Since someone will ALWAYS get one answer wrong) and the kids will bully and hit each other. CAN YOU NOT SEE THE SIGNS AROUND US, YOU BLINDS SHEEPLE? THERE ARE TRIANGLES EVERYWHERE, LOOK AT THEM. ILLUMINATI, CHEMTRAILS, GMOS, VACCINES, CANCER, AND BIG PHARMA. LOOK AT THIS http://imgur.com...

'So I'm guessing that whichever country Pro comes from, he also uses that system. If not, how does he call the extra two days? Thank you.'

I come from the land of Shobswbob, in the 3rd dimension of halgeon. We have 9 days here, and i visit earth on 3 of them (to collect cows) We call the 2 extra days 'MyerCyrus" and JostenBobier", along with your normal names for the 7 days of the week.

3 causes of Stockholms
A severely uneven power relationship in which the captor dictates what the prisoner can and cannot do;
The threat of death or physical injury to the prisoner at the hands of the captor;
A self-preservation instinct on the part of the prisoner.

1. There is a severe unbalance of power. The teachers have complete control over the students! They have to do exactly what they say

2. Teachers will hit if they get mad

3. If the student does not do what the teacher says, he will get in trouble!1!. That is self-preservation

ALSO, TO GET INTO SCHOOL, YOU HAVE TO BE INJECTED WITH TOXIC CHEMICALS THAT CAUSE AUTISMS. THE VACCINES PUT CHIPS INTO YOU THAT MAKE IT SO YOU CAN BE CONTROOOLLEED BY CHEMTRAILS!!!111!!! THEY ALSO FEED YOU GMOS, WHICH CAUSES WEREWOLF-GULIBLE SYNDROME!!111! SCHOOLS 2 BAD 5 ME

Sorry for missing the last round, I have recently been overwhelmed by schoolwork for exams. But I guess Pro's last argument wasn't much better than forfeit.

Pro's first rebuttal is incoherent, in fact it is almost wrong. Finland has one of the lowest rates of bullying (1), but it still exists, which is why he isn't totally wrong. However, the government has put in place a program to fight bullying, KiVa. This program has been very successful as a remarkable 98% of victims involved in discussions with the schools’ KiVa teams felt that their situation improved. It is so successful that KiVa program won the European Crime Prevention Award in 2009 (2). It is a program that the US is considering putting in place in their own country (3). This shows that it is against the teachers' will that "kids will bully and hit each other".

I will leave the voters decide whether Pro's sayings about Illuminati and his two extra days of the week are true. I don't. I only analyse trustworthy sources.

Furthermore, to rebut Pro's arguments against the symptoms I said weren't present in students, I will only say that, even though it might exist in rare cases and in poor countries, physical violence from teachers is unheard of. Google "violence school teacher" and you won't find anything about teachers being violent for a good number of pages (I have not checked how far you have to search to find anything). In fact, most links you will find are about how teachers should learn to prevent violence and school shootings, and how they can go to prison for not reporting violence, or how they are subject to it (4). You might say that kids just don't talk about it, but do you think that's possible? I don't think so. Children have been given so many rights in the last couple of decades that they know how to whine about anything. Most children might even be waiting round the corner to denounce errors on the teachers' part. I know that's the case in my class.

Finally, I will use a personal argument. I have never in my entire school life (I am now in my second-to-last year) been subject to violence, threats or capture. I have chosen to stay in school and am now working really hard to get a good grade at my exam. This is a choice. People don't always make that choice. My brother and sister left school early. The learning system just didn't suit them. So they chose to leave. My brother then came back to education and chose a very tough subject: international law. He chose to do that and is now very content. We don't go to school because we love teachere. We come to school because we know that without the chance it gives us, we won't stand a chance in today's world. School taught me to read, count and take pleasure in so many things such as reading, and learning. i am happy to come to school, but not for your reasons.

I hope readers will have found the debate interesting enough to read. Sorry for any mistakes on my part, "[E]ngl[i]sh [i]s n[o]t m[y] f[i]rst lang[u]age".
