The first round is an acceptance round so no arguments will be made. This topic is bound to be controversial to say the least so voice your opinions in the comment sections.

Lets get cracking then...
Contention 1: Lincoln Douglas is mainly philosophical, and therefore theoretical. The reason I believe this plays a large role in this debate is because since it is (for the most part) theoretical it doesn't require as much evidence in a case. Due to this reason it is easier to attack against a case in Lincoln Douglas as oppose to Policy or Public Forum. In a theoretical debate you can also have an attack that is theoretical, it just must be able to trump their argument. The reason I believe a Lincoln Douglas case is mostly philosophical is because generally speaking a Lincoln Douglas debater will build their case around some sort of philosophy. Since philosophy is theoretical they build their case around theoretical questions and answers making it easy to attack their cases.
Contention 2: Lincoln Douglas is a one person effort. Lincoln Douglas you are required to care about one person and one person only, YOU. In Policy or Public Forum you must also watch after your partner, making it harder to debate because you also have to try and help your partner as well as prepare yourself. In Congress debate you must help people to whom you have ties with, and be on good terms with others. If you only focus on yourself in Congress and arrogant to others they can turn against you repelling your bills. Lincoln Douglas requires you to only care about you and nobody but you.

For these reason I strongly suggest you vote pro.

LD is my thing! And no can say that that annoying 1AR is easy. LD is, at the very least, harder than PF or Student Congress. And, in my most not-humble personal opinion, far more intellectual than Policy.
