**Assuming a state (Georgia) which marijuana is currently illegal**
Marijuana should not be legalized. Currently, there is no problem because it is illegal so why should we make it legal? There are no positive affects it has. Why should we worry about something that isn't even a problem? We don't need stoned people walking around the streets everywhere.
There isn't a logical reason as to why Marijuana is currently illegal. It is a naturally growing plant that actually has many healing and restorative benefits. Some pills are created in an attempt to mimic the health benefits that Marijuana naturally obtains. Marijuana helps many people suffering with Insomnia, chronic pain and epilepsy, to name a few. I personally believe that Cannabis should be fully legalized to all those over the age of 21 regardless of health conditions. Alcohol is readily available for recreational use and has essentially zero health benefits. It doesn't make sense to me that a mellowing substance such as Marijuana is illegal forcing a black market while the alcohol business is thriving. Alcohol posses a great amount of threat to people if abused while if you smoke or ingest too much Marijuana you simply fall asleep... I feel it is wrong to deny someone of something that may help and improve their quality of life. Marijuana can even be used to help prevent pain caused by menstrual cramps. If you have ever smoked or used cannabis you know that the only thing that you are a threat to is the food in your fridge! It should be available for people to use if they wish to. Why is a plant illegal?
