Con

Resolved: According to the Bible, Jesus' mother (Mary) was a virgin for her entire life.

I will allow the affirmative to build his or her case first. Unless otherwise stated, I will be citing the NKJV of the Bible. My opponent may cite other versions if he or she deems it necessary. Game on.

Con

This is rather unfortunate. I have nothing to negate because my opponent has done nothing to prove that Mary was a virgin throughout her life according to the Bible. I will put more thought into my next argument if my opponent will do the same. The resolution is negated.

Mary wasn't a virgin, forever:

When, during Jesus' ministry, "his brothers were, in fact, not exercising faith in him," this would certainly rule out their being his brothers in a spiritual sense. (John 7:3-5) Jesus contrasted these fleshly brothers with his disciples, who believed in him and who were his spiritual brothers. (Mt 12:46-50; Mr 3:31-35; Lu 8:19-21) This lack of faith on the part of his fleshly brothers prohibits identifying them with apostles of the same names: James, Simon, Judas; they are explicitly distinguished from Jesus' disciples.—John 2:12.

The relationship these fleshly brothers of Jesus had with his mother Mary also indicates they were her children rather than more distant relatives. They are usually mentioned in association with her. Statements to the effect that Jesus was Mary's "firstborn" (Lu 2:7), and that Joseph "had no intercourse with her until she gave birth to a son," also support the view that Joseph and Mary had other children. (Mt 1:25) Even Nazarene neighbors recognized and identified Jesus as "the brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon," adding, "And his sisters are here with us, are they not?"—Mr 6:3.

In the Greek Scriptures where the account involved a nephew or cousin, a-del-phos′ is not used. Rather, the relationship is explained, as "the son of Paul's sister" or "Mark the cousin [a-ne-psi-os′] of Barnabas." (Ac 23:16; Col 4:10) In Luke 21:16, the Greek words syg-ge-non′ (relatives, such as cousins) and a-del-phon′ (brothers) both occur, showing that the terms are not used loosely or indiscriminately in the Greek Scriptures.

it-1 p. 370 Brother

If Mary was a virgin forever, then what about poor Joseph, her husband?
What's the purpose in marrying someone you can't share intimacy with?
So Mark 6:3 testifies to the Scriptural Fact that, Joseph and Mary had brought to birth, 4 more sons and at least 2 daughters. Re-read it for yourself.

I looked at some of mush16's other debates, seriously - she can't be for real - otherwise their is no hope for human kind if she is representative of the sheeple.
