The Contender will argue that mass immigration and the migrant crisis in western countries have NOT caused crime rates to go up.

Mass immigration to Western countries has caused crime rates in those countries to skyrocket. Migrants and Migrant gangs commit a disproportionate amount of violent crimes inconsistent with their representation of the population. They are neighborhoods in cities such as Paris that have become separate Islamic communities under Sharia Law rather than the law of those countries due to mass immigration.

I cannot argue that the crime rates haven't gone up. You cannot argue with the very facts. However, I will argue that not the immigration ,alone, has caused that, but the terrible handling of the immigration "crisis" by the politicians and by the people themselves.
In this spirit, we should also acknowledge that most and the worst crimes have not been committed by migrants in the recent "crisis". Unfortunately, the most severe attacks have been executed by third generation migrants who grew up in western societies. That means that something with our system of integration is not working properly and should be fixed.
The politicians are not the only ones who created and maintain the problem. In lots of states the issues are subject only of an election campaign. After it has concluded the parties that were in favor of change suddenly forget it. The next election they again begin that debate and win seats in parliament and that goes on and on without a reached solution.
Therefore it is obvious that people also have responsibility not only for their attitude towards humans with different skin color and race but for the way they vote.

You have a point when it comes to politicians and the people that vote them; however, the countries where these migrants come from are not sending their best. They are sending terrorists and welfare moochers. The migrants who come here and actually become functioning members of society and assimilate are few and far in between. I am for better screening of migrants who come here and only letting in people who are actually fleeing persecution rather than a developing country and responsible politicians who do not just let in people by the thousands in the name of virtue signalling. As for migrants being third generation, there are no statistics that prove that claim.

I think my honorable opponent makes a basic mistake. People coming from these countries have not been "sent". They flee their native lands because of terrorism, not to bring it here. I am for better screening but that does not mean simply ruling refugees out. Most right-wing extremists say better screening and think that we imagine less migrants right away. No! No! No!
Better screening means kicking out only the bad INDIVIDUALS and not preventing refugees seeking asylum.
Along with battling terrorism we have to battle with stereotypes and racism, too. You cannot expect from people who are insulted day-in-and-day-out to become an integrated part of our society.
