To begin, while liberal arts and language are still very important subjects, math and science are the ones that have a larger effect on society. Liberal arts and language are vital for us to communicate and for our culture. However, without math and science, innovation and the survival of our culture couldn't even happen, so for liberal arts and language to be useful, we need math and science. The computer, tablet, or phone you're on right now all depends on math and science to be able to function and be programmed. Many of the most important human discoveries that led to innovation depended on math and science. With math and science, humans are able to make great discoveries that can ultimately change the world for the better. Liberal arts and language cannot make valuable discoveries that create much innovation, as STEM careers like being an engineer don't require a lot of liberal arts skills.

Also, according to a recent Gallup poll, Americans thought that math was the most important subject. This might show that great math and science skills can help you out way more in the job market than any other skill, as many high-paying jobs, such as being an investor or engineer, require STEM skills while not requiring liberal arts skills. All in all, while liberal arts and language are important subjects, math and science are ultimately more important.
