Rap is actual trash
Nathaniel_B

Rap is trash you claim, but where is your evidence to support this claim? Not all rap songs are bad, some have few minor cuss words in them.

Here are the lyrics:
"I hit a beat and swing a note as if my name was David Ruffin

Quick to toast an MC just like an English muffin
Don't worry about a thing because the Puba's never bluffing
I gets headaches from the wack, so then I take a Bufferin and I max
I wait until the opportune time and then I tax but should I max?
Now they say sinning is for sinners so I guess I'm not a sinner
Beginning's for beginners so I guess I'm no beginner
This is how I spark it, money in my pocket
When it comes to having pleasure I gets hard as a rocket
MC Grand Pu coming through all the residue
The songs remain classics dating back to the Babalu
My boys I call 'em Akh, the foes I let 'em jock
And I can think of many episodes I swung in Lincoln Park
No I'm not a phony and I got a tenderoni
Love the way she is, not too fat, not too bony
Don't drink Sanka, won't sink like a tanker
Knock the boots off a skirt in Casablanca and I thank her
Some rappers stink like Englebert Humperdinck
Better yet Dick Cavett, I got a bad habit
Similar to the girl on 'She's Gotta Have It'
I think with the brain and I whip behind the zipper
I'm living kinda good similar to Jack Tripper
A landlord named Roper did a show at the Copa
When I'm finished with this I'll be paid like Oprah
So if honey wants to act fly
I'll just play like Guy and I'm "saying bye bye dumb bitch"
Stick out your thumb and hitch
'Cause you've been cut off like a light switch
See I'm programmed to slam winter, summer, spring or fall
Before I do a show I get some kicks out the mall
Then I get my gear and I give Trev a call
'Cause he works in the barbershop, right behind the mall
Other rappers tried to rob me but you know they got did
To put it blunt, honey I shrunk the kids
So bookers back off break North here comes the regulator
Betcha that you find none greater

On file is a style, that's why you caught a clip
My suitcases is packed and I'm going on a trip
To Mic-a-delphia I go for self and still be slamming
The school bell is ringing and I caught somebody cramming
For the test, oh yes, my study guide was thick
I cut you with my verbal, didn't hurt you just a nick
Off your face, don't play possum watch me and I'll blossom
Like a rose and get some new clothes
And a fresh fade from Rob
Jump on the phone and dial the Now Rule Mob
Now come one, come all, we about to get hectic
If my crew don't get in, then the X makes a exit
To the rear, I'm outta here, don't front on my brothers
I take care of them before I take care of others
Now wood bats is doomed, in the 90's it's aluminum
Step to the stage with a mic and I'm doing 'em something awful
I'm a citizen and I'm lawful
I go to Hunter in the fall, rip the policemen's ball
I got the power to make a car stall
I get some drinks from Glackens, and when the crowd slackens
I stop drinking and then I start thinking about
Days in the past when Derek X was last
But now I'm on the top, damn, news travels fast
'Cause I'm like that, they can't see this
Read my book, it contains many pieces of verses
I took the time to delete all the curses
So moms reach deep in your purses
And buy me take me home and try me and do me well

Well, while I reign rhymes pour
You suck it up like a straw and jump on the dance floor
'Cause every time I step in a jam
I make like a door and slam
But then girls try to turn my knob 'cause I'm a heart throb
I guess it's just a hazard that comes with the job
'Cause every time I rock a rhyme that shows Jamar is intellectual
Girls want to get sexual
Well I guess I have to cope with being so dope
You want to be me, but can't see me with a telescope
You seek and search but still you can't find
You're weak and it hurts to be deaf, dumb and blind
A supreme mind will take you out of your paralysis
I grip the mic so tight I get callouses
And your analysis is that the Lord
Whips rhymes into shape with a mic cord
I do it good 'cause I'm a positive black man
Eating up suckers as if I was PacMan
Not a Dapper Dan fan, I stay casual
To rock like the J it comes gradual
You got to know the ledge to wise the dumb
And understand your culture of freedom
Power equally with the Gods
So you can build and born your cipher
All your life you must teach truth
Of the true and living God, not a mystery spook
And when you do that, pursue that goal
Which made the student enroll and only then you'll prosper" source: [Google Play music]

With the video (song) along with the lyrics I provided, proves that rap is not "trash" as you claim, now in the next part of this debate, please provide evidence to support your claim, and argue how metallica is better than rap.

None of the lyrics make sense. I don't care if there is cussing in any music but rap is just a bunch of meaningless words put together to rhyme. Showing me lyrics and a video isn't evidence that rap isn't trash you showed me a video and lyrics. The song One is about a soldier who has been wounded in war and the lyrics make sense, it actually tells a story. Here is a link to the song for you and lyrics down below

https://www.youtube.com...

I can't remember anything
Can't tell if this is true or dream
Deep down inside, I feel the scream
This terrible silence stops with me

Now that the war is through with me
I'm waking up, I cannot see
That there's not much left to me
Nothing is real but pain now

Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh, please God, wake me

Back in the womb, it's much to real
In pumps life that I must feel
But can't look forward to reveal
Look to the time when I lived

Fed through the tube that sticks in me
Just like a war time novelty
Tied to machines that make me be
Cut this shiit off from me

Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh, please God, wake me
Please God, wake me

Now the world is gone, I'm just one
Oh, God, help me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh, please God, help me, help me

Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see absolute horror
I cannot live, I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body, my holding cell

Land mine has taken my sight
Taken my speech, taken my hearing
Taken my arms, taken my legs
Taken my soul
Leaving me with a life in Hell

Oh, please God, help me
Help me

Metallica has great guitar and has lyrics that make sense unlike rap. Sad to think that quality music like this is not very well known in younger generations today.

Yet you have not proved this to be true, you just made claims without any evidence to support them. Therefore your claims are Invalid.

(this next song is about truth)

The same sheisty cats that you hang with and do your thang with could set you up and wet you up ni**a, peep the language
It's universal; you play with fire it may hurt you
Or burn you, lessons are blessings you should learn through
Let's face facts, although MC's lace tracks
It doesn't mean behind the scenes there ain't no dirt to trace back
That goes for all of us, there ain't nobody to trust
It's like sabotage, it's got me ready to bust
But I can't jeopardize what I have done up to this point
So I'ma get more guys to help me run the whole joint
Cultivate, multiply, motivate, or else we'll die
You know I be the master of the who, what, where and why
See when you're shining, some chumps'll wanna dull ya
Always selfish jealous punks will wanna pull ya
Down, just like some shellfish in a bucket
Cause they love it to see your a** squirm like a worm

But just as you'll receive what is coming to you
Everybody else is gonna get theirs too

I ain't no saint, therefore I cannot dispute
That everyone must meet their moment of truth

[Hook]
Actions are reactions, don't be quick to judge
You may not know the hardships people don't speak up
It's best to step back, and observe with couth
For we all must meet our moment of truth

[Verse 2]
Sometimes you gotta dig deep when problems come near
Don't fear, things get severe for everybody everywhere
Why do bad things happen to good people?

Seems that life is just a constant war between good and evil
The situation that I'm facin' is mad amazin'
To think such problems can arise from minor confrontations
Now I'm contemplating in my bedroom, pacin'
Dark clouds over my head, my heart's racin'

Suicide? Nah, I'm not a foolish guy
Don't even feel like drinking or even getting high
Cause all that's gonna do really is accelerate
The anxieties that I wish I could alleviate

But wait, I've been through a whole lot of other sh*t, before
So I oughta be able to withstand some more

But I'm sweating though, my eyes are turning red, and yo
I'm ready to lose my mind, but instead I use my mind
I put down the knife and take the bullets out my 9

My only crime was that I'm too damn kind
And now some scandalous motherf**kers wanna take what's mine
But they can't take the respect that I've earned in my lifetime
And you know
They'll never stop the furious force of my rhymes

So like they say, every dog has its day
And like they say, God works in a mysterious way
So I pray, remembering the days of my youth
As I prepare to meet my moment of truth

"You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free!"

[Verse 3]
Yo, I got one lyric pointed at your head for start
Another one is pointed at your weak a** heart
Now if I pull the trigger on these fully loaded lines
You're gonna wish I would've pulled a black 9

I mack dimes, crack the spines of the fake gangsters
Yeah the biting trifling ni**as and the studio pranksters
Yo, looking at the situation plainly: will you remain, G?
Or will you be looked upon strangely?

I reign as the articulator, with the greater data
Revolving on the TASCAM much doper than my last jam
While others struggle to juggle, tricky metaphors
I explore more to expose the core

A lot of emcees act stupid to me
And we have yet to see if they can match our longevity
But anyway, it's just another day
Another fake jack I slay with my spectac' rap display
Styles, smooth but rugged -- you can't push or shove it
You dig it and you dug it cause like money you love it
The king of monotone, with my own throne
Righteously violent prone my words bring winds like cyclones
Storming your hideout, blocking out your sunlight
Your image and your business were truly not done right
Throw up your He Allah Now Divine Saviours
You got no hand skills, there's no security to save ya
No pager, no celly, no drop top Benz-y
I came to bring your phony hip-hop to an ending
My art of war will leave you sore from the abuse
Cause you must meet your moment of truth

[Hook]
They say it's lonely at the top in whatever you do
You always gotta watch motherf**kers around you
No one is untouchable, no man is bulletproof

We all must meet our moment of truth

Now a song by metallica:

Down in the depths of my fiery home
The summons bell will chime
Tempting you and all the earth
to join our sinful kind
There is a job to be done and I'm the one
You people make me do it
Now it is time for your fate and I won't hesitate
to pull you down into this pit

So come on
Jump in the Fire
So come on
Jump in the Fire

With hell in my eyes and with death in my veins
The end is closing in
Feeding on the minds of man
and from their souls within
My disciples all shout to search you out
And they always shall obey
Follow me now my child not the meek or the mild
But do just as I say

So come on
Jump in the Fire
So come on
Jump in the Fire

Jump by your will or be taken by force
I'll get you either way
Trying to keep the hellfire lit
I am stalking you as prey
Living your life as me I am you you see
There is part of me in everyone
So reach down grab my hand walk with me through the land
Come home where you belong

So come on
Jump in the Fire
So come on
Jump in the Fire

Is this promoting sin and satanism?

Again, you need evidence to back up your claims, otherwise your claims are invalid and unsupported.

You have failed to prove how metallica is better than rap and how rap music is bad.

Okay here is my evidence for why It is meaningless words that rhyme. For example lets take the rapper by the name of Lil Pump. The song Gucci Gang is basically a 2 minute song of him repeatedly saying Gucci Gang. The words are meaningless. Sure, some rap songs have a meaning behind them but seriously repeating Gucci Gang for 2 minutes straight is just terrible.

Metallica talks about struggles that the band or the leader singer (James Hetfeild) struggled with. The song Master Of Puppets is about drug addiction. The song One is based on the book Johnny Got His Gun and tells about a wounded soldier during WW1. The song Blitzkreig talks about the WW11 strategy used by the Germans.

Some Metallica songs refer to Satan and Satanism but so do rap songs too. Lil Uzi Vert (a famous rapper) his name is a word play off the name Lucifer. xxxtentacion has a song called I spoke to the devil in Miami. Are both these rappers supporting satanism too? I believe so.

You still have not told me why you believe rap is not trash you have only shown me songs and lyrics.

Final Round

"
You still have not told me why you believe rap is not trash you have only shown me songs and lyrics."

Again, the purpose of this debate was about proving how metallica is better than rap, which you have FAILED to do. You made claims, with no supporting evidence, you even agreed in this last round that some rap songs are good. You did not prove how metallica was better than rap, just unsupported claims, I am pretty sure that I have won this debate, and next time when you make a debate, support your claims with evidence, from good sources.

Reasons for voting decision: A tie debate, because music is almost entirely subjective. You could make an argument that a song written by a fifth grader is better than a song by Chopin. It all depends on the listener's opinion, and they can vary greatly from person to person. While Bliztkreig made no argument that proved Metallica is better than rap, Nathaniel Bandy made no sound argument of the contrary. So while I may like rap more, I give this debate a tie, because it's almost impossible to win.
