In this debate I intend do discuss whether or whether not milk is good for our bodies. I am pro that milk is fraud and we should minimize the amount of animal products that we consume. My opponent will be arguing as con with the believe that milk is healthy for our bodies.
Throughout the last decades milk has always been sold as being a good and nourishment supplement to our diet because of the fact that milk contains many nutrients like calcium, fat and protein which is claimed to be good for us. The true is that these much needed nutrients that cows milk consists can cause a lot of diseases:

- The milk sugar causes digestion problems
- The fat that milk contains is a kind of fat that can increase cholesterol
- Animal products can increase the risk of men having prostate cancer
- The hormone that farmers injects in cows causes cancer cells to grow
- The milk protein can trigger some allergies and migraine

Milk is fraud because we have always been told that milk is good for us because of it nutrients. The calcium that milk contains does not help against osteoporosis or stronger bones. Several studies show that the people who drink the most milk pr. year, either have no bone protection or having more bone fractures than others because that the little amount of calcium that milk contains is not enough to make a difference.

Also a 27-year long study made by Dr. Colin Campbell called the China Study showed that the protein Kasein that cows milk contains can increase the risk of getting cancer if you consume more protein than you need. Dr. Colin Campbell found out that with Kasein, they could turn cancer up and turn cancer down. The protein level that is required to turn on cancer, is the protein that is given in a higher amount than we need. We absolutely need protein but we only need so much. Many of us consume more than we should and it is that extra amount of protein that turns on cancer.

I therefore believe that the image the the media and farmers give us about milk, is pure fraud. My conclusion is that animal products should be cut out of the diet pyramid and that Americans should be better informed about the side effects of milk.

Thank you for allowing me to debate you. As you know, I will argue that milk is good for you and it is not bad. Let's begin.

1. Milk sugar causes digestion problems

This is basically describes people that are lactose intolerant. If you are lactose intolerant than by all means do not consume milk. However, these lactose intolerant people do not consume milk anyway and I will address the people with the ability to drink milk everyday.

2. Fat that milk contains is a kind of fat that can increase cholesterol.

Yes. Since cholesterol is fat, increasing the amount of fat in your consumption will increase your cholesterol. But, there are options of milk that reduce the fat such as 2% fat and non-fat, which eliminates the large majority of the fat problem.

3. Animal products can increase the risk of men having prostate cancer

This one I have not heard of before. Can you show me the resource where you found this from?

4. The hormone that farmers inject in cows causes cancer cells to grow

Again, I have not heard this one before. Can you show me the resource that you found this from?

5. The milk protein can trigger some allergies and migraine

Milk can contribute to migraines this is true, but if it does not contribute to migraines for you or you like milk despite the migraines then feel free to consume milk. The migraines only affect certain people and the people that it does not affect can receive the health benefits of milk.

Now to discuss my points that I would like to address


The calcium in milk reduces the risks of osteoporosis.


The extra calcium deposit that the milk provide can help strengthen the bones and thus keeping it stronger

Milk has large amounts of vitamin D and protein


These large amounts os vitamin D and protein can improve health and allow you to feel energized throughout the day.


Milk can help the skin look its best.


According to http://www.fitday.com... the milk that we consume can help your skin complexion and this improves our skin's liveliness.


These are the reasons why milk is beneficial and although the milk can have some side-effects to a small few, milk benefits the majority of people in a positive way.

Harvard University did a major study about the connections between animal products and prostate cancer in April 2000.

The hormone that farmers inject is called IGF-1 (insulin growth factor) is very important in tissues growth and development and there is several studies there have shown the connection between circulating IGF-1 and and the risk of cancer. IGF-1 could lead to breast, colon and prostate cancer.

Another study showed that people with a high level of IGF-1 had a greater risk of having colorectal cancer. Also another study showed that men and women with the highest number of IGF-1 also had more than four time the risk of having prostate cancer and women had more than double the risk of having breast cancer

The calcium in milk reduces the risks of osteoporosis
I do not agree with this statement. Several studies show that the calcium in milk do not reduce the risks of osteoporosis it is the other way around:

Milk has large amounts of vitamin D and protein
Yes, but so do fatty fish, canned tuna, some juices, beef liver, the sun, oil. Peas, spinach, potatoes, broccoli, horseradish, soya beans, linseed also contain a lot of protein. So you do not need any animal products supplement in your daily diet.

Milk can help the skin look its best
It sounds very odd to me. I think that I would choose cream and face cleanser over milk every time.

I recommend you to watch the documentaries "Milk" and "Forks over Knives". They discuss both sides of whether milk is good or bad for us.
