My oppinion judges that Obama shouldnt have won the 2012 elections and Romney should be president

(2000 character limit)

In my belief Obama should have beaten Romney because:

1) More people voted for Obama then Romney. Obama was elected fair and square by the public and just because you dont agree with his policies and preferred someone elses, it doesnt mean that he therefore shouldnt have been elected president just because you alone dont like him. Romney shouldnt have won because he didnt get enough votes.

2) If Romney won then the Republican party might have grown more extreme. The Republican party platform has been seen as extreme by more and more Americans, which is reflected in voting percentages by sex, race, and age.

Had Romney won then the Republican party could have continued to grow more and more extreme which could have cost them numerous future elections.

3) Republicans can do a hell of a lot better then Romney. Had Romney won then the Republican party would start chasing around future candidates similar to Romney, rather then exceptional candidates similar to Reagan. Had Romney won then it could have caused the Republican party to start pushing mediocre candidates like Romney to run instead of pitching someone who could truly redefine America, politics, etc. to run.

4) Now could have been a really bad time for there to be a Republican president. There is no guarantee that America is going to get better these next four years, and it is also possible that the sh*t hits the fan before 2016 and ruin the reputation of the party in power.

We may not be able to tell now, but if America does go to hell sometime before 2016, then the Democrats would have their reputation ruined while the Republican party flourishes. If Romney won though, then Republican credibility would be sh*t and Democrats would flourish.

Thats all I can fit for right now

1) Extend all arguments

2) Your opinion doesnt mean crap in a debate, you need to use logic, reasoning, facts, etc. if you want to convince people that youre right and that you should win....

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct to con because of FF. Spelling and grammar to con because in the little that pro types, he spells 'opinion' wrong. Convincing arguments to con because pro never really makes his case and doesn't have any real proof. Sources to con because pro never uses sources.

Reasons for voting decision: This was a tough one to judge. Yes, Con provided a variety of arguments in his favor and yes, they are all relevant to the resolution. However, Pro said nuh uh, so as a voter, I'm torn. In the end, after re-reading this multiple times and some extensive soul searching, I sided with Con. Am I confident in this vote? Of course not. How could I be. I will likely visit and revisit this debate again and again over the coming months, constantly doubting (and in moments of weakness, perhaps even changing) this vote. As an active member of this site, I do feel compelled to vote on this. At the same time, I know this vote will be a stain on my conscious for years to come.
