Modern Radical Islam (Jihadism) is a larger threat then Germany, Italy, and Japan were from 1933 to 1945. Because:

1: They kill ruthlessly and believe they will go to paradise for it.

2: Their laws are harsher

3: They are willing to use any kind of weapons

And they use propaganda to teach kids to cut of peoples heads.

Thanks, pro.

=Weighing=

The resolution states that radical islam is a greater threat to the world than the Axis was. The only way an entity could threaten the entire world is to unleash a world war, or a war so large that it negatively effects the quality or quantity of life in every region of the world.

=Case=

1. WWII

The Axis and the Allies engaged in a horrifying and bloody total 6 year war that directly caused the deaths of over 60 million people, over 2.5% of the world population at the time[1]. The war threatened to be so bloody that nuclear weapons were used, killing hundreds of thousands of civilians, and unleashing an arms race of epic proportions which threatened to engulf mankind in a nuclear holocaust. The destruction of the German and Japanese war machines led to the United States and the Soviet Union having competing spheres of influence in Europe in Asia, disrupting trade and leading to several proxy wars lasting at least until the 1970's, killing tens of thousands more. Had the axis never risen, the competing hegemonic claims would be un-needed--the U.S. would have stayed isolationist, and the strength of the German war machine would've kept Stalin from initiating conflict[2]. U.S influence in every part of the world would be nowhere near as great as it is today, and as such the resentment stemming from radical islam that leads to terrorism would be systematically reduced. Essentially, without WWII it's probable that terrorism would not have even existed at all, and if it did, it would be directed towards the imperial nations colonising the middle east (since it's unlikey the de-colonization movement would've taken place without WWII), not domstic citizens abroad.

Compare the deaths in WWII to the deaths from terrorism, which total less than 15,000 since 1921[3]. Even if we assume that all of these terrorist attacks were from radical islam (they arent) they still constitute .00024%, or 24 in ten thousand deaths compared with WWII.

2. Genocide

The Germans murdered between 11 and 17 million people during the Holocaust[4] and the Japanese murdered between 3 and 10 million people in their bloody wars in Asia[5]. All of this happened between 1937 and 1945, a period of 8 years. It has been over a decade since the 9/11 attacks, and no world war nor widespread genocide.

3. Areas of Aggression

The terrorist attacks are a reactionary response to Western influence, particuarly that of the United States. You can see from the map on source 3 that Iraq has become a hot bed of terrorist activity since the US invasion, and since the US has bases and influence literally around the entire world, most of the aggression is against them. Compare this to the aggression of the Axis, which involved dozens of Nations on every continent

=Pro case=

1. They kill ruthlessly and believe they will go to paradise for it

This is a fact, but the Germans, Japanese, and Italians killed brutally as well. All three of these believed themselves to be the master race and many of those that they conquered as subhuman. He doesn't show you how this makes them more dangerous.

2. Harsher laws

He doesn't explain which laws are harsher. I question the basis of this contention--the Germans and Japanese both engaged in genocide and the invasion, slaughter, and robbery of dozens of nations...it's hard to get harsher than that, and indeed the Axis ignored precedent in the laws of war as well, killing civilians purposefully in the Battle of Britian[6]. They engaged in out and out lawlessness, breaking their non aggression pact with the USSR by a surprise invasion, and murdering civilians.

3. Weapons

The Nazis attempted to create Nuclear weapons to use against the Allies[7] and used thousands of V-2 rockets against the allies[8]. They too were willing to use any weapons, and actually managed to gt ahold of advanced and deadly weaponry as opposed to Ak-47's and bolt action Lee-Enfield's.

4. Propaganda

the Germans and Japanese issued propaganda so powerful that it convinced their people that they were the master race, and that other peoples were sub human. It's hard to get more potent propaganda than that.
