Con

Groups like WWASP have been kidnapping and harming children for years.
tennis47

Pro

That;s why we have police officers. They can't protect EVERYONE at the same time, you know.
Debate Round No. 1
tennis47

Pro

That was fate. It's not going to happen everywhere, you know.

Not only do we have police officers, but we have video cameras, security, motion sensors, etc...

What I'm saying is that if we have more boot camps, then the teens will have support from other teens who might be in the same situation. It's like rehab.
Debate Round No. 2
spellingbee

Con

This "rehab" has left teens abused and mistreated.
tennis47

Pro

Then don't send your kids to it!

I don't know how to get links! If I knew how, I definitely would have used them.

Pro needs more sources, Con needs to attack Pro's weak arguments. If I could, I just wouldn't vote, but solely because all of Pro's points went largely unaddressed by the Con, the round goes to Pro.

"What's WWASP?" -- It was spellingbee's job to explain how "WWASP" linked to his resolution.

Short debates are typically bad. This one is no exception. I voted a near-tie.

Reasons for voting decision: Arguments to Pro because Con didn't actually argue anything. EDIT: I was looking this over and I can't figure out why I gave points for anything but sources and arguments.

Reasons for voting decision: Con never never explained what "WWASP" is or how it links to his resolution, nor provided evidence that "these boot camps leave teens abused and mistreated". Con has not met the burden of proof as instigator of this debate, and therefore loses arguments. S&G and conduct were about even. Con did post good sources. REVISED: I will grant Conduct to Pro as well, for actually debating the topic.

Reasons for voting decision: Con had more reliable sources. Sources to Con. But, that's really it for Con. In a debate, Con needs to explain his points and he didn't do that here. Pro responded to all questions. Conduct to Pro. Arguments to Pro.
