Murder is always wrong. Human life is sacred and there is never any justification for ever killing another human being.

Con

Interesting debate. I'll accept and argue that murder is not always wrong.

Murder: The unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another

I believe that there are certain cases in which killing another human be can be justified. Obviously just going around and killing people for no reason is wrong. However, enemy soldiers, euthanasia or in some cases sacrificing one for the many can be justified cases of killing another human being. Thats not to say killing them is a good thing, and I would not do it but they can be justified.

Ok, I agree with your definition of murder.

Killing people can never be justified. The bible says "Thou shall not kill". Human life is sacred and should not ever be ended by another human being. Capital punishment is also horrible because that person is being murdered.

I am glad we can agree on a definition.

We are not using the bible as our standard of law. We are using current day laws set up by governments. While it is true that our laws also say not to kill, they differ greatly from the bible on many other laws regarding killing another person.
Exodus 31:15 - Six days may work be done; but in the seventh [is] the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth [any] work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Genesis 9:6 - Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
Exodus 21:17 - And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
Exodus 21:15 - And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
If we are using the bible as our guideline for laws regarding murder, then people would be dropping left and right. The bible, while it is a good guideline for life, is not what we use to govern our nations.

Also, Capital punishment is not murder. The definition we agreed upon was the unlawful premeditated killing of one human by another. Capital punishment is legal (depending on where you live) and so it is not murder.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro forfeited the last round, but the rounds that he had participated in showed many faults with his argument which Con was able to refute well.
