My stance in this debate is wrong
Debate Rounds (4)
Topic: my stance
Claim: My stance in this debate is wrong.
Your title: "My stance in this debate is wrong"
Your claim: "My stance in this debate is wrong"
Your stance: Pro
Your claim is in support of your title, therefore your stance (Pro) is correct.
Then that make my stance false because I said it was wrong, which is the opposite of correct.
It makes your claim false, but not your stance.
No. Your stance is not the same thing as your claim. You have clearly confused the two terms.
Your stance is where you stand, Pro or Con.
Your claim is your argument.
You claimed that your stance is wrong. You support this claim, therefore you are Pro.
Stance and claim are not the same, but they are tied. Your claim is what determines your stance. And your claim determines that your stance be Pro, and you happen to be Pro, therefore your stance in this debate is right.
Pro conceded that his claim was incorrect because I proved it so. Because his claim was deemed wrong, and I corrected it, that would only mean I win!
