National health care is important for our nation, because in the land of opportunities it is important for people to be able to get health care. Imagine walking into a hospital with your wife in labor. It is not time for the baby to come out but your wife needs an emergency surgery in order to save her own life as well as the life of the baby. A hospital is required to provide your wife with the surgery because it is an emergency. However, you own a small business and do not have health insurance. When your wife comes out of surgery and you meet your new daughter you are overjoyed. Then, you receive the bill. In order to pay the bill you are forced to enter a long term payment plan and you enter into massive debt. Because of this massive debt you are forced to sell your business and you, your wife, and your new daughter are left with nothing. All of this could be avoided if a national health care service was provided.

Unless your named store owners were uninformed or irresponsible, they would know that there are programs like medicaid and medicare that provide health care for low-income or sick citizens. If he cannot afford to have the procedure preformed, or is low income, then the responsible thing for him to do for himself and his new family, would to apply for one of these programs. national health care requires taxes to be raised on everybody else, because the money to take care of these people still have to be there. We shouldn't have to pay more if there are programs that will do it.

Actually, it's not ad hominem. It's Appeal to Pity.

Das kapitel, your attempt at provoking pity for a family struggling to pay medical bills ia a purely ad hominem argument for establishing Socialized Health Care. You should really attempt to refrain from this type of argument. It makes your case appear weak.
