This is a debate about whether national prayer should be allowed. There are 2 reasons for this:
Reason 1- By allowing national prayer, we respect our founding father's laws set up for us. Reason 2- National prayer allows for people to express their true feelings. Please comment on how I can improve in future debates. Thank you! 1. we respect our founding father's laws set up for us. In the US people are already given the right to pray, public or in private, as contra points out in the comments kids already are allowed to pray in schools, as long as its not lead by a principle, therefore we can assume the founding fathers would not mind this change (making teachers lead it makes it look like atheism is frowned upon, and hurts the 1st amendment to freedom of religion.) 2. Feelings people can already prayer, even in public, therefore their "feelings" are already expressed. Reasons against: 1. first amendment 1st amendment means the government cannot allow national prayer (so they do not respect the religion) and cannot be anti prayer, so they allow private prayer. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" [1] national prayer respects religion, hence it is unconstitutional to have national prayer. Reasons for voting decision: Uses stronger resources, and because of the stronger resources, his arguments have much more backing and a stronger rebuttal.

Reasons for voting decision: CON proved his case (using my comment) and also refuted PRO's contentions adequately.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro could improve by fully substantiating his contentions (ie more than 1 sentence per argument). Con did a good job with few characters, but could have been more character-efficient with his structure. Pro had BOP and failed to substantiate it, plus neg was able to do some fair rebuttal. Neg win.

Prayer in schools is already allowed. The only thing that is banned is prayer led by a principal, or teacher. Students can pray whenever they want in school, there is plenty of freaking free time in the school day.
