To begin with, Nick Foles deserves MVP recognition in the National Football League (NFL), because he has willed the lowly Philadelphia Eagles out of a slump. The Eagles looked like they had another bad season coming (like last year), especially after Michael Vick was hurt and the team had a 3-5 record. This record doesn't even break .500. Well, after Nick Foles started to play in the last few games, the team has a four game winning streak. They have improved their record to 7-5 and may even reach the playoffs after this amazing stretch. They are currently tied for 1st in their division (the NFC East), which I know may not be much, but they just defeated the Arizona Cardinals who were on a great streak including a win over the 8-4 Indianapolis Colts. Against the strong Cardinals' defense, Foles completed 21-34 in passes and had a low 118.0 passer rating. He is averaging 128.0. Nick Foles deserves MVP recognition in the NFL because he has thrown 19 touchdowns and 0 interceptions this whole season (he has only played in 7 games). Peyton Manning, who by many people is the front runner for MVP, had 25 touchdowns and 3 interceptions by this time (7 games). Foles has not even played fully in each of the games, but has earned his starting spot over the great Michael Vick. Foles is only in his second year and by the time that this year is over, he will have become even more experienced. He will most likely, at this rate, put the Eagles into a postseason spot. Who knows, unless someone is clairvoyant, the Eagles might even make it to the Super Bowl and win their first championship. This is why I stand in firm affirmation on this topic: That Nick Foles deserves MVP recognition in the NFL.
He doesn't deserve it because he's only had success because no team has really played against him and they don't know how he plays and stuff like that. Like Colin Kaepernick last year. He was good only because he never started before. He's worse this year because teams know how to play against him. It will be the same case with Foles, He might be relatively good this year, but next year he will suck. There are better players who deserve recognition. Tom Brady with him having to get used to new receivers and still having a good record. Manning, Rodgers, Wilson. Just to name a few.
