Hello, we are arguing weather Nuclear Energy is the Future of Power Production or not, the format is as follows;
Round 1- Acceptance only
Round 2- Opening arguments (DO NOT refute opponents argument here)
Round 3- Rebuttals (you may bring in more arguments)
Round 4- Closing statements (no additional rebuttals or information!)
Arguments of course, will be sourced but no heading is required.
ok well since my opponent has forfeited the round I'm not going to say to much but what I do have to say about nuclear energy is that its a good thing with little pollution but the thing is that the general public is scared of nuclear energy because of accidents in Chernobyl, Ukraine in 1986, Three Mile Island, United States in 1979 and the recent nuclear meltdown in Japan in 2011. In total this has terrified the public and in fact the United States hasn't constructed any nuclear power plants since Three Mile Island and that was over 30 year ago! Another reason for nuclear energy not being the future of power production is because of nukes. What I mean by this is again the general public think of nukes and nuclear power plants in one of the same thing causing unnecessary fear on nuclear energy. Lastly the only thing that nuclear energy has going for them is nuclear fusion which can make energy nearly free of charge if its made in the right environment such as the Sun. The thing is the Earth is nothing like the sun and scientists have made little progress in making it here on Earth. It will take scientists many decades until nuclear fusion can be perfected and by then the world would have found new power sources such as renewable to fulfill the worlds needs (if its not already destroyed). So to sum it all up nuclear energy is not the future of power production because of people being scared of it and nuclear fusion being decades away from perfection.
