Note: This is my second debate on Senator Barack Obama, but the last one was short and my opponent posted only 1 argument. This is a 5 round debate.

Not only Obama aggravates me with his speeches, but the possibility that he can become the next President of the United States scares me. His whole health care plan is backwards. He stole it from Hillary and made such changes that he should stop saying he is for "Universal Health Care" because his plan does not cover everybody, like every single country out in the world has.

Obama is a great public speaker, and he has some clever slogans. Today I watched 2 minutes of his speech after his victory in Wisconsin and the first things I heard him say were "Our problem is not lack of good ideas. The thing is Washington has become a place where those ideas come to die". Two minutes later he says "We need a health care plan that pays for preventive care so that we can have health care and not disease care". This is probably not what he said verbatim but it is along the lines of.

What people fail to see is that his campaign is based on slogans. He does not argue or point out the issues. He is not specific nor consistent. He is simply very intelligent and he knows how to conquer the hearts and minds of America. The thing is, when those curtains close, people should think with THEIR BRAIN!

We're all very much in love with Obama but by looking at his real health care plan, his driver's license to illegal immigrants policy, his statements on social security, and so on... One can tell that he is BACKWARDS!

Before I end my opening statement let me say 5 words... Hope. Change. Yes we can.

This is a 5 round debate, but you lose some points for this forfeit olle15.

I just want to add some things that I discovered watching the Texas debate. Apparently Obama copied whole paragraphs of his friend's speech, who is a Senator of Illinois. He claimed that there was nothing wrong since this Senator is on his campaign personnel and he suggested that Obama used part of his speeches. However, I think differently. Even this Senator was one of Obama's campaign officials and he himself proposed that Obama xeroxed full paragraphs of his speech, Obama shouldn't have gone up there and just declaimed someone else's speech as if it were his. I don't think this is receiving enough attention from the media, and if Hillary was to do what Obama did, she would be attacked front and left by both democrats and republicans. I mean, come on, they even attacked Hillary for having her eyes wet with happiness when she won in New Hampshire.

Anyways, I hope voters take into consideration that olle15 forfeited his round and did not support his position in this debate, regardless of your own opinion.

"No Child Left Behind has its ramifications..."

Shwayze: I was merely pointing out where you were wrong. If you wanted to use a generic term, than it would have been oh so easy to take a little timeout and realize you numbers don't add up. If I were debating you, I'd merely note it. I'm not saying it means you're dumb, or you lose. Just pointing it out. Howabout you relax and take a breathe?

You're quite obviously mistaken. At worst, the Democratic policies could be called socialist. To call them communist is outrageous and wrong.

Go read up.

"But if Obama wins, I'll still be happy because he will be Jimmy Carter II and take this country into a terrible direction and people will finally realize stalinists should not run our government and conservatism is the right way."

Assumption/Run-On Alert! Assumption/Run-On Alert!

Support your stuff. Otherwise, debate would be nothing more than:

"You're dumb!"

"Nuh uh!"

Hm, shwayze. You sound like Joseph McCarthy! You might be gay!

Kill them Chinese commies, eh?

You're outrageously wrong because you're too conservative. Even I tend to be fairly moderate, and you're just disgustingly turned to the right. Be a little more open minded, and not bias.

like all liberals, rousseau takes everything so literally. one step back for two steps forward is a generic term and cliche. Relax and just take a breathe.

You obviously havent read enough history because Stalin's 5 year plan looks a lot like Obama and Clinton's philosophy.

I would just like to know where I am outrageous or wrong also.

Yeah! Go Conservatives! We don't need math, or nothing! Cheney '08!

Yeah, but sarcasm aside, learn math (shwayze).

Terms are 4 years, thus... 16 years = 4 leaps. Not two. No Child Left Behind has its ramifications...

I'll go ahead and comment on the comments, as thats where the real debate is. Although I disagree with Pro (and he has voted against me based off of opinion) he clearly won. Albeit by luck, but hey.

Frankly, this is just a typical liberal-conservative debate (with an occasional moderate). I'm tending to lean left on this (even though I'm generally pretty moderate) because shwayze seems super close-minded. With debates like "Liberalism is a mental disorder" and "Conservatives are Smarter than Liberals" he is almost single-handedly exemplifying why there is a humongous backlash against conservatives with the younger generations.

Secondly, go learn history! Comparing liberals to Stalin is not only historically ignorant, but also offensive.

Also, your assumptions are very, very wrong. I mean, if you at least supported your claims, I wouldn't mind you hald as much. However, you're outrageous, wrong, and close-minded. Great combination.

honestly, if John McCain wins I'll be happy. But if Obama wins, I'll still be happy because he will be Jimmy Carter II and take this country into a terrible direction and people will finally realize stalinists should not run our government and conservatism is the right way. After Obama, the Republican party will own the White House for at least 16 years. I'm willing to take 1 step backward for 2 leaps forward.

...Sigh...I was expecting Dumbass to have commented by now! Come on, man, you're disappointing me.

Shwayze, Obama hasn't hypnotized me in the least. This is simply something called my "opinion", which may be a concept too big for your closed mind.

Blond guy, if Obama was the Ron Paul of the Democrats, then he wouldn't be winning.

shwayze, hypnotized is the correct word! Obama has them all hypnotized, he doesn't know what he's doing, he's the Ron Paul of the democrats. 2012 the Republicans will win precisely because of how bad of a president Obama really is.
