I do not believe that the universe is infinite, however I think Obler's Paradox is wrong due to some reasons. I have had previous debates on this but still not convinced! Feel free to reply if you want to debate this topic..

Good luck proving it wrong:

The paradox is that a static, infinitely old universe with an infinite number of stars distributed in an infinitely large space would be bright rather than dark.

So, firstly, light travelling from an infinite number of stars would be curved by the gravitational pull of an infinite amount of black bodies, black holes, and obviously stars in the way of the light. Black bodies meaning anything not emitting visible light i.e dust, asteroids, planets and so on. when a wavelength of (photon or wave) light travels and falls into the well of gravity of an object, the wavelength will be either increased or decreased depending on G (grav field strength), distance traveled in the warped space-time and which way the light falls in. this is what happens when the sky turns red during sunset- the wavelength of light is decreased making it red. if all this light coming towards us is bent a huge number or infinity of times, eventually the wavelength will not be visible.
Secondly, we can only see so much from earth as there would be a sort of barrier of an infinite amount of bodies, which directly blocks light from reaching us.
Assuming that space is expanding in this theory, which some physicists speculate could be the case, the wavelength of an infinite amount of light would be red or blue shifted over some distance, also making it invisible. Also it would take us an infinite amount of time to reach us.
