I accept this round. Recall that my obligation is not to argue that corporate contributions should be banned, indeed doing so would violate the first amendment and private property rights, but rather to show that they are indeed harmful.

I do not know how my opponent wishes to define "democratic process", but I'll simply define it as the act of legislators passing meaningful and useful legislation beneficial to the country, mostly in accordance with the will of the people.

I am currently debating this topic, from the standpoint that the Citizens United SCOTUS decision is a threat to our democracy.

If that debate can help, I invite you to look it over. Unfortunately, my partner is using a few ad nauseum and semantic tactics, as well as a straw man and red herring, on occasion.

It's not pretty, but it may be useful here.
