Osama Bin Laden is mean. he likes to hurt people, and he drinks the blood of virgin goats for breakfast. H wants to sleep with 70 virgins in heaven after he dies, and for now he rapes wild goats in the caves of Afghanistan. This is particularly mean, because raping goats is in effect treating objects like women.

Osama is, in the final analysis, a mean mean person.

Who dares to counter this argument?

First when evaluating this debate we must look at it from a non-US perspective. We can not allow biases from the fact that the US could have been attacked by Osama influence the decision making.

Now on the Pro's first argument (the hurt people stuff) - first we my opponent fails to point out any instance where Osama hurt some one, and lacking any real evidence we can't just assume Bin Laden did 9/11. Also, the US continued to intervene in the Middle East despite many threats and thus justified any response from Bin Laden so this doesn't make him mean.

Next on the drinking blood of goats argument - That's cool, there is no reason why that makes him mean. If that makes Bin Laden mean then anyone who eats meat is a meanie. Also in a world where Bin Laden and his followers need food and all they have is goats, there's nothing wrong with that. Also this argument is really stupid and completely unwarranted, this shouldn't even be looked to.

Next on to the virgins argument - Again this is not a reason why Bin Laden is mean, I don't know about you but if there is a heaven i hope there are virgins for me. Also we can't just hate this because it's a taboo in America, we don't understand all parts of Bin Laden's religion and therefore can't just say eww gross.

Finally on the doing goats argument - This is first untrue, second not a reason he is mean, and third stupid. Bin Laden does not have sex with goats, that's stupid. Also look back to the taboo argument above. Also look back to the argument above that we don't understand their culture. Also doing goats alone is not a reason Bin Laden is mean. The only real argument here is that having sex with goats is like making objects women, one problem... there's no reason why making object equal to women is mean, making women into objects is mean but that's not the argument. Also in a world where a man is masturbating, under my opponents frame work, that elevates the man's hand to the status of a woman, and that's dumb.

Now the only argument I have to win is that Bin Laden was provoked, justified, and pushed to act how he did in the past.
1. - Bin Laden and his followers informed the US of their displeasure with the US intervention and their intention to retaliate. The Western intervention in an attempt to attain Middle Eastern oil resulted in complete instability and chaos for the people of Bin Laden. Any action Bin Laden took was done to protect his own people against Western domination and control and thus in a non-US view he was not being mean. These intervention make the US the mean one in this case, even though some of Bin Laden methods may have been bad this doesn't make Bin Laden himself bad.
2. - In a world where we have no proof that Bin Laden did anything to hurt us or anyone no one can vote on this, we can't just assert that Bin Laden did things like 9/11, any group could have done that and short of any proof we can't just say he hurts people.

Finally, all i have to do to win this debate is prove that Bin Laden didn't act in a mean way, even if his actions had mean effects that doesn't make Bin Laden mean. So consider this all in a non-US framework and one must really dismiss all my apponants arguments because they are warrantless.
So Bin Laden is not mean for the Pro's reasons and I await the rebuttal.

While I think Pro didn't have as good of an argument as he could have , con you must be joking when you say that we don't know for certain that Osama did not plan out and set up 9/11. To justify this by saying he was provoked is also absurd. So if someone keeps annoying me , I can kill them .. because it is justified .. doesn't work that way .. and oh wait he didn't just kill one person , he didn't even kill the administration whom actually "provoked " him .. it was random people that died. Mothers , children, fathers, grandparents , siblings, aunts , uncles , nieces, and nephews. People going on vacation and people going to work. He admitted 9/11 , others have turned his name over for 9/11. there is no doubt he did this. Even his son admits it although he things he had "reasoning". He still doesn't deny what his father did.

No i grant he most likely (if not certainly) did it but all i asked for was some proof given in the debate so as to put some burden of warranting arguments. Also, knowing this argument wasn't the greatest, i put other offensive reasons why Bin Laden's not mean. I also like the Carson Daly debate you opened, I interested to see how that goes.

Hoooooooooooooold on just a minute. Are you actually seriously trying to say that western civilization and even substantial percentages of eastern civilization have not proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Osama Bin Laden is responsible fo September 11, 2001? Are on yo ucrack?

Bin Laden himself admitted that he backed and funded the attacks. People who have been arested and detained without due process for years have admitted that Bin Laden was the driving force behind the attacks. Bin Laden was even caught on video, on a video at a family celebration, to close friends, that he was responsible for the attacks. That video was never meant to be surfaced, because it shows how physically weak Bin Laden became by 2004 when it was made.

No proof that Bin Laden was the driving force and was responsible for 9/11? After following the money back to al Quaeda, there isn't adequate proof?

I know you are simply trying to play devil's advocate here, but choose your arguments wisely. That oen was f*cking absurd.
