First round is acceptance. P.E. stands for Physical Education and applies to any class that children are active in for most of the period.

No, I do not agree with this. Why should kids be wasting time in physical education while they could be learning. Kids are getting enough exercise each day walking to classes and some walking home. They don't need another hour each day playing sports that they could care less about. They are running for excessive amounts of time and playing sports that they are not understanding Which leads to the teachers and students yelling at them. People are too competitive these days so if there team loses, they will pick on the weakest member.

I will address your points bit by bit.

"Why should kids be wasting time in physical education while they could be learning."
Because with a 7 hour a day schedule children wake up, at 7:30, eat breakfast, go to school until 3:00, go home do there homework, then even if they like exercising they have hardly enough time left to do it. Kids need excersise because " bone is built during youth, with peak bone mass between ages 20 and 30, exercising the muscles that pull on and strengthen bone is critical during this period. To help youngsters reach their full growth potential, they should get 30 to 60 minutes of physical activity, at least 5 days a week." [1] Furthermore, children who excerisise build healthy habits they bring into adulthood, and exercising helps an adult be successful[2]

"Kids are getting enough exercise each day walking to classes and some walking home."
As a student myself I can tell you that the walk between classes is not enough, at all, to account for the hour of exercise kids need. Furthermore, only a portion of kids walk home, most driving or taking the bus

"They don't need another hour each day playing sports that they could care less about."
It releases stress and can help them do better throughout the day [3]

"They are running for excessive amounts of time and playing sports that they are not understanding"
This depends on the school and individually student.

"Which leads to the teachers and students yelling at them. "
Don't teachers yell at them outside of P.E.

"People are too competitive these days"
Thats subjective

"so if there team loses, they will pick on the weakest member"
Then steps should be taken so those who are picking on the weakest link are punished.

If people exercise in their early life, they will be smarter later in their lives [4]

I agree that P.E should be required in school. This country complains about our "obese children" but people disagree about having gym class. Well, if schools did not have gym class, one, kids would be bored with the every day lifestyle of sitting down all day in a class. My second point is that if kids did not have gym class then they're next option would be to participate in a sport after school. Participating in a sport after school may be allowed to these kids, but not every kid is athletic. I think having gym class gets the kids energized during school, keeps them active, and most importantly keeps them fit.

PE shouldn't be required throughout high school. The only reason some kids are getting fat is because they are eating terrible food. If they ate healthier than they wouldn't need PE.
