Palestinians Are The Nazis of the 21st Century
Debate Rounds (5)
Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Mufti of Jerusalem and uncle of Yasser Arafat, was a the champion of violent antisemitic hatred and was a prominent leader of the Arabs during the Mandatory Period. He was a graduate of Obama's much lauded Al-Azhar University and belonged to the Hanafi school (one of the four Sunni schools) of Islamic jurisprudence.attended an educational institution known as Dar al-Dawa wal-Ershad (The Institute for Propagation and Guidance) created by the Syrian Islamic Salafi leader Mohammed Rashid Rida, who politically promoted a rejuvenation of the caliphate for Pan-Islamism. He instigated the 1929 massacres; in Jerusalem the Muslims from their domed victory mosque on the Temple Mouhnt shouted "Death to the Jewish dogs!" and to meet Arab demands the British sent armed men to dismantle a small screen erected to shield Jews during a prayer service at the Western Wall. The Mufti distrubuted phamplets describing the "...the unlimited greedy aspirations of the Jews..." accusing them of a takeover of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Jews worshippers were frequently beaten or stoned. The Mufti further abused Jewish worshippers by starting construction next to the Kotel, having donkeys driven through the prayer area dropping excrements, throwing contaminated waste water down on the Jewish worshippers, and havihng a muezzin make the Islamic call to prayer right next to the wall with a deafening noise.
Naturally the Mufti along with his Supreme Muslim Council gave an inflammatory Islamic Friday sermon and the Muslims marched afterwards on the Kotel burning Jewish prayer books and supplicants stuffed in the cracks of the wall. Arab Media circulated a flyer signed by the Committee of the Holy Warriors in Palestine citing libels stated "Hearts are in tumult because of these barbaric deeds, and the people began to break out in shouts of 'war, Jihad ... rebellion.' ... O Arab nation, the eyes of your brothers in Palestine are upon you ... and they awaken your religious feelings and national zealotry to rise up against the enemy who violated the honor of Islam and raped the women and murdered widows and babies." Ultimately thousands of Arabs streamed into Jerusalem armed and proceeded to massacre Jews. British police watched on as Jews were being killed and Jewish requests for firearms were denied.
In Hebron, the Arabs mob armed with axes and knives proceeded to massacre 67 Jews and wounded many others, destroyed a Jewish hospital that treated Arabs, desecrated synogues, looted valuables, and destroyed a library containing manuscripts of great antiquity. The Jewish survivors were forced to move to Jerusalem. Jews were also killed in Safed as described in the Diary of David Hacohen, "We set out on Saturday morning. . . I could not believe my eyes. . . I met some of the town's Jewish elders, who fell on my neck weeping bitterly. We went down alleys and steps to the old town. Inside the houses I saw the mutilated and burned bodies of the victims of the massacre, and the burned body of a woman tied to the grille of a window. Going from house to house, I counted ten bodies that had not yet been collected. I saw the destruction and the signs of fire. Even in my grimmest thoughts I had not imagined that this was how I would find Safed where "calm prevailed."
The local Jews gave me a detailed description of how the tragedy had started. The pogrom began on the afternoon of Thursday, August 29, and was carried out by Arabs from Safed and from the nearby villages, armed with weapons and tins of kerosene. Advancing on the street of the Sefardi Jews from Kfar Meron and Ein Zeitim, they looted and set fire to houses, urging each other on to continue with the killing. They slaughtered the schoolteacher, Aphriat, together with his wife and mother, and cut the lawyer, Toledano, to pieces with their knives. Bursting into the orphanages, they smashed the children's heads and cut off their hands. I myself saw the victims. Yitshak Mammon, a native of Safed who lived with an Arab family, was murdered with indescribable brutality: he was stabbed again and again, until his body became a bloody sieve, and then he was trampled to death. Throughout the whole pogrom the police did not fire a single shot."
The Mufti, unleashed a violent wave of violence aimed at Jews and the British Authorities in 1936 in what can be described as a religious holy war and he declared anyone in opposition to be a heretic and their life forfeit. He was receiving financial backing at the time from Fascist Italy. He was forced to eventually flee to Iraq. The tragedy of the whole affair was the British had already rewarded the Saudi Royal Family by gifting them Transjordan (over 80% of the original mandate) for support and oil. To keep Arab support the British further abandoned the Mandate supporting the creation of yet another Arab state and prhohmising to restrict Jewish immigrants to 5,000 a year while permhitting unrestricted Arab immigration.
The Mufti and the Arabs were supportive of the Nazi Regime as evidenced by a telegram sent to Berlin by their consul in erusalem that stated, "the Mufti explained to me today at length that Moslems [sic]both within Palestine and without welcome the new regime in Germany." They looked forward to the spread of Fascism. The Mufti was ultimately smuggled to Axis-controlled Europe by the Italian Servizio Informazioni Militari. He was given a large grant of monheyh and met with Mussolini who expressed his antisemitism and opposition to Zionism. Bernard Lewis cites his draft declaration of German-Arab cooperation submitted to the Nazi Government declaring, "Germany and Italy recognize the right of the Arab countries to solve the question of the Jewish elements, which exist in Palestine and in the other Arab countries, as required by the national and ethnic (v"lkisch) interests of the Arabs, and as the Jewish question was solved in Germany and Italy."
The Mufti would then travel to Berlin to be official received by Adolf Hitler. Although Hitler would not make a public declaration, he told him his plan to systematically hunt down and destroy Jews throughout Europe telling the Mufti to 'to lock ...deep in his heart' what he was revealing about the Holocaust. The Holocaust Memorial Museum has the Berlin Newsreel of the meeting and Hitler had pledged the annihilation of the Jews living in the Mandate.
He would go on to celebrate the opening of an Islamic Center in Berlin giving a speech that lashed out at the Jews, stating that the Koran judged the Jews "to be the most irreconcilable enemies of the Muslims." He predicted that the Jews would "always be a subversive element on the earth [and] are inclined to craft intrigues, provoke wars, and play the nations off against one another." as well as deliever propaganda broadcasts throughout the world on Radio Berlin supporting Nazi Germany as well as antisemitic attacks promoting conspiracies about Jews controlling the governments of the world. He labeled the Jews as the enemy of Islam, and used crude racist terminology to depict Jews and Jewish behavior. He described Jews as having immutable characteristics and behaviors. On occasion, he would compare Jewishness to infectious disease and Jews to microbes or bacilli. In at least one speech attributed to him, he advocated killing Jews wherever Arabs found them. He consistently advocated "removing" the Jewish homeland from Palestine and, on occasion, driving every Jew out of Palestine and other Arab lands. Heinrich Himmler told him in summer 1943 that the Germans had "already exterminated more than three million" Jews.
His other activities included the interception of Jewish refugees and the recruitment of an entire SS division of Bosnian Muslims, which would go on to commit various war crimes in the Balkans ethnically cleansing Jews and Serbs. Sadly, the French would not turn him over to the British or to Yugoslavia for prosecution as requested hoping to use him to bolster France's reputation in the Arab World. The Muslim Brotherhood helped him escape to Egypt, which granted him asylum.
Yasser Arafat would call him a "hero" praising the fact he remained an Arab leader despite his ties with Nazi Germany noting his partcipationh as a soldier for him in 1948. "We are not Afghanistan"We are the Mighty People. Were they able to replace our hero Hajj Amin al-Husseini? ... There were a number of attempts to get rid of Hajj Amin, whom they considered an ally of the Nazis. But even so, he lived in Cairo, and participated in the 1948 war, and I was one of his troops." Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf is a bestselling book among the Palestinianhs.
