Being a former Percy Jackson fanboy when I was younger, I have a fairly good understanding of his abilities. As of right now, I do not have enough time to do an actual debate due to exams, but I haven't debated for a while and feel the need to. So I figured, I will do a lighter debate, one not as serious, but still challenging. So I figured I would test myself, with a Percy Jackson v. So, if you are reading this and wanted to see my last debate about Percy Jackson heat off, hopefully you can do that here,

The rules are simply. Anyone can accept, and the first round is an acceptance round, where you must state who your character is. The aim of this debate is to prove that your character can beat mine. Now, the challenger obviously has the advantage, knowing who my character is, therefore there are some terms about who can be picked. The person you pick, must be:

I) The main protagonist of an action/adventure book series.
II) Not an immortal or incapable of death/pain.
III) Selected from the end of the latest book of the series or book.
IV) Fully/Half Human.

That should be about it. Please, don't choose Harry Potter, but if you must, then fine, and for a challenge of yourself, don't find loopholes and choose someone completely overpowered, but once again, if you must. You ruin it for everyone. Rules are simple:

I) Usual DDO conduct.
II) No plagiarism.
III) Characters must follow the aforesaid character rules.
IV) First round is acceptance.
V) Fourth round is conclusion/summation. No rebuttal will take place.

Failure to comply will result in an instant loss, I urge the voters, but I hope for a challenging, yet light-hearted debate. Thanks!

This will be my first debate and I absolutely love the topic. I will be facing off against Percy Jackson with the Kyler Stern , master assassin, from Brent Weeks, Night Angel trilogy.

Good choice, it seems. A tough one. Although he is immortal, he isn't invincible and is able to die, so we are only looking at one life. Although Kylar Stern is a good choice, you made a fatal flaw by choosing him. For one reason, he is physical. Let me break this down:

Percy Jackson's Powers[1][2]
- Manipulation of water.

- Enhanced abilities in water.
- Mastery over all aquatic creatures.
- Separation of oxygen from water.
- Creation of impenetrable quasi-solid water objects.
- Breathing in water.
- Manipulation of snow and ice.
- Creating water.
- Healing factor (when in water).
- Water immunity.
- Summoning hurricanes and storms.
- Ability to create earthquakes.
- Heat resistance.
- Poison manipulation.
- Lightning summoning (unintentional).
- Supernatural alertness and supernatural senses.
- Supernatural swordfighting abilities.
- Moderate super-strength.
- Superhuman agility.
- Superhuman endurance.
- Moderate superhuman sight.

Kylar's Powers/ abilities[3][4][5]
- Invisibility/blending with shadows.
- Insinuating fear.
- Weapon creation from the black ka'kari.
- Absorption of hostile magic.
- Voice throwing.
- Footstep muffling.
- Superhuman agility.
- Moderate superhuman strength.
- Illusionry.

I) The Physical Edge

Kylar, being a Wetboy, relies on physical attacks. Percy Jackson, can counter this. As written in source [1]:

"Percy's supernatural alertness and keen senses that keep him ready for, and alive, in battle. It also lets him analyze his opponents fighting style as well as pick up minor details about an opponent, such as where their muscles tense so he can tell which direction they'll attack from. This is one general trait of demigods."

Percy Jackson in a one v. one scenario has the ability to not be subdued to instant assassination by Kylar. Percy's ability to do this will easily allow him to parry and resist in a fist/sword fight with Kylar. Don't also overlook Percy's fighting adeptness. His training is an "unpredictable, solo fighting style" and he was easily capable of fending off a whole army[1] by himself. Percy's speed and agility is that of gods and on more than one occasion he has shown this.

Percy is also very durable and has shown super strength and durability. He has survived being doused with lava, lifted up the entire Heavens and has survived poundings by that of gods, titans and giants. Percy Jackson, being able to survive any amount of water pressure can technically survive the highest amount of water pressure, which is at the bottom of the Marianas Trench and is 15,750 psi.[6]. Now, the average human femur, which is the toughest bone in the body is broken by 1,700 psi[7]. The amount of force needed to break him is clearly shown in the series as well, with Percy surviving everything from perilous falls to straight up hits from immortals and blasts of water by gods.

Getting close to Percy is suicide anyway, because of this. You have not even seen the top of the iceberg, because Percy's magical side really do make him a formidable foe, but even physically, Percy's ability with reflexes. super strength, agility and immense fighting abilities already mean that Kyle as shown in the book is not able to kill Percy. Percy's natural fighting abilities and reflexes would mean invisibility wouldn't serve to much of an issue, their superhuman abilities are arguably matched. Illusionry maybe, but as I will go on to explain, this is not a problem. Percy Jackson, as I have shown, is physically capable of easily handling Kyle.

II) The Magical Edge

Percy Jackson has a prodigious amount of magical power. As I have shown in my previous debate, Percy with his immense water control, can generate 56,849,178kg of water power in one jet. The 223 m/s move speed of a tsunami x 2,500,000 kg of an Olympic swimming pool worth of water gives you this monstrous figure. A cubic inch of bone needs 8,626 kg to break[8]. Percy Jackson's abilities also range from the ability to generate quasi-solid water objects which effectively have densities higher than any solid on Earth, if Percy wills and aerokinesis, the abilities to control winds[1]. Kyle could probably not survive 253 mp/h of wind or 300,000,00 volts and 100,000 amps of electricity, or a river load of water spurting throughout his body, all which he can do[1].

Kyle's ability to induce fear is most likely nullified by Percy, who has survived Tartarus and an encounter with Typheus[1]. Typheus, the one creature that the Greek gods are scared of. Fear is not an issue. Illusionry may work, but Percy's ability, which is unknown by many, to actually generate water at his own weakness means an instantaneous generation of tons of water, spurting all around him at monstrous speeds would kill all people surrounding.

Percy's ability to generate hurricanes as mentioned twice before is one that cannot be overlooked. One large enough, is inescapable. Percy's ability to generate electricity, although accidental, would kill Kylar. Percy can generate earthquakes, of unparalleled magnitude, would easily stun and distract Kylar.

III) Analysis

Kylar's abilities rely on him being close or attacking Percy with physical/ballistic attacks. Percy, not being a "mage" cannot have his abilities absorbed and Percy's immense speed. Percy, also having a physical edge would not be ambushed or swiftly expunged. His immense durability and agility would mean a simply physical fight could easily end in a broken Kylar, but Percy's abilities can deal enough damage to instantly take out Kyle. All Percy needs is the opportunity, which his physical attributes allow him to end.

Although I have BOP, because my claim is that Percy will beat you hero, it is up to you to either negate facts, which would be probably unlikely, or concede Percy's power and take up the BOP that Kylar can still defeat Percy. It is hard, because the son of the Earthshaker, is not weak, and will certainly hold a challenge for Kylar, if not, force Kylar to shuffle of the mortal coil. Over, and over again.

I figured Niam, that like everyone in the school that you'd be cramming the night before the tests, so why don't you cram with some pizzazz? And listen to these amazing soundtracks, which I compiled? It took me hours to do, and I'd appreciate if you shared, liked and favourited it. I know how much you like music, especially classical, and these are the modern classical. Thanks!
