I think...therefore, I am. True or false? I say, true. And why? Because, I canneth. Philosophers beware, for I am your hair.

Con

I think therefore I am refers to the mental not the physical just because you think you're someone's hair does not mean you will become it. There are alot of different right perceptions and heres the one I like If you put your mind to it you can do anything. But of course thats within possible realms you still can't become someone's hair. And in my mind to take such a great quote out of context makes you a very sad ignorant person.

Descartes also said he could be sure of nothing else, because an omnipotent demon could be devoted to making sure he's wrong about everything else.

Of course if it's omnipotent, why can't it make sure he's wrong about the thinking and the "am"ming to? logic? Since when did logic trump omnipotence? oh wait logic works... goodbye god I won't miss ya :P

The Pro seems to misunderstand Descartes intended meaning in his statement "I think therefore I am" Descartes was a man who loved to contemplate existence. He was concerned largely with metaphysical phillisophical principles and therefore, wondered how one could actually prove one's own existence since interpretation could be a subjective perception. His conclusion was that since we was able to think and contemplate not only his own existence but ideas and the existence of others, he must therefore actually exist himself. He doesn't mean that he think he can will himself into materializing into someone's hair or anything like that. Due to the pro's misunderstanding of his own argument. Con gets my vote.

The CON took the quote out of context and did not understand it fully.
