By "Impossible debates", I mean: Debates in which the Instigator makes a debate 'impossible to accept'.
SenatorZhen

Con

I disagree. It allows multiple people to be able to "sign up" for a debate, as well as allow the instigator to be more selective in picking his ideal opponent.
Debate Round No. 1

Pro

If an instigator wanted to find someone to debate, why not just turn to the forums?
SenatorZhen

Con

They both would function in the same way, why do impossible debates bother you?
Debate Round No. 2

Pro

They take too long to commence. At least I think so. I've never taken one.
SenatorZhen

Con

You state that they take too long to commence. However, the wait time would be about the same, if the same screening process is used. I stand by my belief that impossible debates are not any different than a way to be able to be more selective in choosing their opponent.

My B.I.T.E mind control debate should have been an Opinion instead. It basically was an impossible debate and I felt sorry for my opponent, as I really left him nothing to base an argument on.
We essentially both agreed that Ken Ham has been pushing mind control BITE based indoctrination on children and teaching them that Atheists eat children.

So, yes, I'm guilty of starting Impossible Debates that belong as Opinions only.
Where's the handcuffs????

Actually I'm Guilty of posting Opinions as debates, so I really cannot say much!

This appears to be a Plea to DDO, rather than a Debate.
Maybe it belongs in the Opinion section of DDO, along with all the Impossible Debates.

People post Opinions as Debates all the time, some appear impossible to challenge on, because they are just Opinions, not a proper Debate Title nor Format.

The trolls and idiots are the ones that do it, David.

You can block 'em so they don't do it the second time.

Frankly I think that it's fine to screen the people who want to accept the debate. It keeps trolls and noobs from ruining a potentially good debate.

Reasons for voting decision: PRO could have used much better arguments against impossible debates, for example, "Why not just challenge an appropriate opponent". The "to long to commence" argument was weak and CON appropriately pounced on it.
