I used to believe if it didn't rhyme it wasn't worth reading. But I've grown up and have taken new views. I do take into consideration that some great rhyming poems are out there but on the whole I believe that it constricts the writers ability to well , just write. If you are constantly worrying and changing your words to fit around rhymes and half rhymes etc. Then you are also limiting the amount of raw emotion you are conveying. I have also grown to find traditional rhyming poems slightly tedious. So overall I believe writing a non-rhyming poem is more emotional, intriguing and of a higher standard compared to rhyming poetry.
