First of all I need to make it clear that what we're debating The QURAN and the Bible and not anything else lile "Hadiths or Muslim Interpretations of the Quran (ex Ibn Kathir,etc..) since the Quran alone is the only source of Islam or at least that's my view.
Also, the debate will include various topics to campare the two Holy Books with such as :
1- Signs/Proofs of being from God (Scientific miracles, etc)
2-Historical evidence that the Book wasnt altered with or corrupted.
3- Any prophecies included in the Books.
4- Human Rights /morals included in the Holy Book
5- Most importantly "which is the one calling truely for peace and being open-minded
and many other topics
Hope Good luck for Con and I wish the debate goes on in good manners and be enjoy able for us all .
First Round is for acceptance :)

It's really disappointing that pro forfeited considering it was a debate he created.
Jesus Christ, to the Christians, he is the son of god.As a christian I hope we can respectfully debate each other about these two holy books. There are verses in the bible which states that Jesus could, heal the sick, cleanse those who had diseases, drive out demons, and more. This are the verses(proof).

Jesus cured the nobleman's son (John 4:46-47).
The great haul of fishes (Luke 5:1-11).
Jesus cast out an unclean spirit (Mark 1:23-28).
Jesus cured Peter's mother-in-law of a fever (Mark 1:30-31).
Jesus healed a leper (Mark 1:40-45).
Jesus healed the centurion's servant (Matthew 8:5-13).
Jesus raised the widow's son from the dead (Luke 7:11-18).
Jesus stilled the storm (Matthew 8:23-27).
Jesus cured two demoniacs (Matthew 8:28-34).
Jesus cured the paralytic (Matthew 9:1-8).
Jesus raised the ruler's daughter from the dead (Matthew 9:18-26).
Jesus cured a woman of an issue of blood (Luke 8:43-48).
Jesus opened the eyes of two blind men (Matthew 9:27-31).
Jesus loosened the tongue of a man who could not speak (Matthew 9:32-33).
Jesus healed an invalid man at the pool called Bethesda (John 5:1-9).
Jesus restored a withered hand (Matthew 12:10-13).
Jesus cured a demon-possessed man (Matthew 12:22).
Jesus fed at least five thousand people (Matthew 14:15-21).
Jesus healed a woman of Canaan (Matthew 15:22-28).
Jesus cured a deaf and mute man (Mark 7:31-37).
Jesus fed at least four thousand people (Matthew 15:32-39).
Jesus opened the eyes of a blind man (Mark 8:22-26).
Jesus cured a boy who was plagued by a demon (Matthew 17:14-21).
Jesus opened the eyes of a man born blind (John 9:1-38)
Jesus cured a woman who had been afflicted eighteen years (Luke 13:10-17).
Jesus cured a man of dropsy (Luke 14:1-4).
Jesus cleansed ten lepers (Luke 17:11-19).
Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-46).
Jesus opened the eyes of two blind men (Matthew 20:30-34).
Jesus caused the fig tree to wither (Matthew 21:18-22).
Jesus restored the ear of the high priest's servant (Luke 22:50-51).
Jesus rose from the dead (Luke 24:5-6).
The second great haul of fishes (John 21:1-14).

This no solid evidence that proves that the bible has been altered with. There are plenty of prophecies in the bible and most of half of those prophecies have already been fulfilled. As for human rights, there is the 10 commandments which contains prohibitions against murder, theft, coveting, adultery, and bearing false testimony. There are verses in the bible where you must treat everyone and as you wish to be treated yourself. The bible also states that God doesn't discriminate or have a favorite, for everyone he created is unique and he loves each one. God's people are to help whoever in need. Which is why Christians have accepted the responsibility to aid their fellow human beings.
In my opinion, i think the bible is the book calling for peace. People often get this mixed up because of how, in the old testament, it has wars, violence and sexists. Then people go on to say that the bible is a book promoting sexism, violence or hatred towards gays but if they actually understand the book, it says in Mark 12:28"31, that we must follow Christ's law in order to live eternally (meaning also in the after life). The law of Christ is, We love god with all our hearts and love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves. The 10 commandments would come under Christ's law. If you love your neighbor then you wouldn't steal from him/her, murder him/her or lie to him/her.

How can the Quran be read without the Hadiths? I find many muslims I talk to shy away from the hadith because they don't like what it contains. Great idea for a debate though, I will be following.

So what position is Pro? I'm assuming he's for the Quran but there isn't anything saying that distinctly. I want to follow this debate and some clarification would be appreciated.

Is a Jew allowed to partake in this debate? (You would have to exclude the New Testament and include the Oral Torah)
